A LITTLE ABOUT THE VILLAGE🌄🧭🌏/UN POCO SOBRE LA ALDEA🚩👨🏫
In the past, the villages began as people who dedicated themselves to grazing and took advantage of the resource of nature making their houses with the material (xisto), the villages are not centered on one site, on the contrary, they are scattered throughout the Sierra. from Lousa, it is an extraordinary landscape to see how the houses merge with the beauty of the mountain, it is a natural landscape full of a great variety of plants and animals! in total about 5 villages were built, I went to the "casal novo" and "talasnal" the latter is known because it is called "the mountain of love" and you can imagine why the name...🚩🧭💖

You can take more than one day to get to know all the villages and it is that in this magical area we can find museums, castles and a lot of Portuguese culture, we could go to local vendors and buy pieces of decorations for our home that are created with a lot of creativity by part of the inhabitants What is the best height to visit this set of villages? It will depend on your choice! If you want to feel the pleasant cold of the mountains and lose yourself in the mist of nature, then visit them in winter like I did! or venture to a higher climate and visit it in summer, so you could take advantage of doing some "trailhos", the "trailhos" are small trails that lead to interesting places that the lousa mountain range hides!😮😮😜
VIDEO-DRONE🌄🧭🌏/VIDEO DRONE🚩👨🏫
I prepared this video for you with great care, so you have an aerial view of what the village is like and at the same time enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Sierra de Lousa, if you plan to visit Coimbra then you cannot miss passing through these villages, it is said that in total there are 27 but some are not inhabited as they are people who have houses here just to spend a few days on vacation! Because it is an isolated area in the mountains, few have the interest to live in areas like this! let's say that this area is for people who like to live isolated from the world!😍😍
The Sierra de Lousa is one of the highest points in Portugal with its 1200 meters high! It is a mixture of mountain range between Spain and Portugal, therefore it extends for many kilometers, we basically locate it in the "center" of Portugal, there is a great variety of fauna in these areas and it is possible that we will come across some deer that inhabit the mountain, in the villages we can find a temperature between 7 to 22 degrees during the year!🙂🙂
My experience in the villages was fantastic, they are very easy to access, the only bad thing is that you have to go by private car since transportation here is very limited, they had recommended a restaurant that is very crowded on weekends and in summer , it's called (Ti lena) it's excellent to try the local gastronomy, I felt a bit sad because the restaurant was closed xD but I hope to return to the site in the future and try a good dish! I have to emphasize that it was more than 300km from my house!😏😏
There are many (xisto) houses that are for rent for tourists, you can get a house for 4 people for 80-100 per night, what I love about the villages is that you can see that people take advantage of the resources they have to create things Beautiful, the Sierra de Lousa is made up of these stones and they are easy to acquire. I was seeing how they built the houses and it is easy, only sand and stone, instead of cement to preserve the tradition, mud is used to glue the stones!💥💡💡
MY EXPERIENCE🌄🧭🌏/MI EXPERIENCIA🚩👨🏫
I visited the village with my family and without a doubt it would be an experience that I would repeat if I had the opportunity, 4 hours are not enough to discover all the secrets of the Xisto villages, there are many people who spend a week and come with bicycles to do trilhos "Between the mountain, there are several rivers that pass through the mountain and that are born from the top of the mountain, making the water crystal clear and clean! the Sierra de Lousa also has some areas called "beaches" where people can take a bath in summer under waterfalls!💖💖
This is the most famous village of all it is called (talasnal) it is also known for "mountains of love", despite not being the highest it is the one that offers one of the best views, here we can already see people who live throughout the year in these beautiful houses, but we can also rent one if you want a romantic night with your partner! Talasnal is full of life and beautiful landscapes at the bottom of the valley a river passes by so you can hear the sound of running water from the balcony of any house!💖🌄🏡
One of the beautiful traditions of the xisto villages is that almost all the houses have very small doors, I would say 165 so a person like me who is 178 always has to bend to enter the houses, they seem like small magical homes where They inhabit "elfs" and for me it is one of the small details that make the place a unique tourist site!😮😮😜
There is a very nice fountain at the entrance of the village, the streets are narrow giving a touch of gigantism to the houses there are many decorations at this time of Christmas so if you visit the village in December you can see the streets decorated with many lights, and if you're lucky! sometimes the village is completely covered with snow!😏😏
