¿A quién no le gusta una invitación repentina para salir de la rutina? Seguramente a todos nos ha ocurrido en alguna ocasión, el hecho de salir de casa a realizar alguna actividad en especifico y terminar con un plan totalmente distinto sin siquiera haberlo pensado, esta situación me ocurrió un día en que fui a una reunión que tenía con un equipo de trabajo, después de la cual terminamos en un pequeño local compartiendo de unas buenas cervezas y pasando un rato agradable.
Who doesn't like a sudden invitation to get out of the rut? Surely it has happened to all of us in some occasion, the fact of leaving home to carry out a specific activity and end with a totally different plan without even having thought about it, this situation happened to me one day when I went to a meeting that I had with a work team, and after that, we ended up in a small place sharing some good beers and having a nice time.
Como ya les he comentado antes, hace unos años fui miembro del comité organizador de una asociación de voluntarios a la que pertenezco, este comité se encarga de ser el enlace entre los diversos becarios voluntarios y la mesa directiva. Durante todo un año estuve trabajando con un excelente equipo el cual aprendí mucho y con cuyos miembros llegué a entablar una gran amistad, con el tiempo dejamos de ser un grupo de compañeros de trabajo y nos convertimos en un equipo de verdaderos amigos. Sin embargo, llegó el momento de ceder nuestro puesto al equipo del siguiente año, por lo cual organizamos una pequeña reunión donde el viejo equipo le cedería el lugar al nuevo.
As I have mentioned before, a few years ago I was a member of the organizing committee of a voluntary association I belong to, this committee is in charge of being the link between the volunteer fellows and the board of directors. For a whole year I was working with an excellent team which I learned a lot and whose members I became very close friends with. Over time we stopped being a group of co-workers and became a team of true friends. However, it was time to give up our position to the following year's team, so we organized a small meeting where the old team would give way to the new one.
Ese día nos juntamos ambos equipos y tuvimos la reunión donde en su mayoría fueron consejos e instrucciones de nuestra parte, para que el nuevo equipo pudiera llevar a acabo de la mejor manera su tarea, todos los presentes nos conocíamos, por lo cual fue un compartir muy ameno y sincero de parte de nosotros quienes ya vivimos la experiencia para los nuevos, los cuales estaban a punto de comenzar un gran camino lleno de muchos aprendizajes. No puedo negar que si bien fue bastante agradable por fin terminar el ciclo dejar de lado todas las responsabilidades que este conllevó, al mismo tiempo fue un poco nostálgico, ya que fue una experiencia muy buena llena de grandes momentos, muchos aprendizajes y nuevas y valiosas amistades.
That day both teams got together and we had the meeting where mostly of it was about advices and instructions from us, so the new team could carry out its task in the best way, everyone there, knew each other, so it was a sharing very entertaining and sincere on the part of us who already lived the experience for the new ones, who were about to start a great journey full of many learnings. I cannot deny that although it was quite pleasant to finally finish the cycle to put aside all the responsibilities that this entailed, at the same time it was a bit nostalgic, since it was a very good experience full of great moments, many learnings and new and valuable friendships.
La reunión no fue muy larga por lo cual terminamos considerablemente temprano, dada esta situación mientras estábamos a punto de despedirnos, ya que todos estábamos entre amigos de confianza, surgió la idea de ir a tomar unas cervezas en un lugar cercano, aunque nadie lo tenía en sus planes, ninguno lo dudo ni un instante, y en poco tiempo ya estábamos en aquel lugar, dispuestos a disfrutar de unas cuantas cervezas, buena compañía y un gran ambiente, done reinaron las anécdotas, los viejos recuerdos y algunas bromas de parte de ambos equipos, así como también funcionó como el momento ideal para ponernos al día con las últimas novedades.
The meeting was not very long so we finished considerably early, given this situation while we were about to say goodbye, since we were all among trusted friends, the idea of going to have a few beers in a nearby place came up, although no one had it In their plans, no one doubted it for a moment, and in a short time we were in that place, ready to enjoy a few beers, good company and a great atmosphere, where anecdotes, old memories and some jokes on the part of both teams were present, as well as it also worked as the ideal time to catch up with the latest news.
Después de todo un año lleno de mucho trabajo, los muchachos de mi equipo y yo sentimos que era la manera perfeta de despedirnos del deber, no faltaron los recuerdos de todas esos buenos momentos sentados en la mesa de reuniones discutiendo alguna idea, e incluso recordamos experiencias que no fueron tan agradables, sin embargo, fueron parte fundamental de todo lo vivido y hoy las recordamos con mucho cariño, definitivamente una experiencia incomparable que me ayudó mucho para mi crecimiento personal, ya que me ayudó a desarrollar diversas habilidades y al mismo tiempo me regaló una gran cantidad de buenos amigos.
After a whole year full of a lot of work, the guys on my team and I felt that it was the perfect way to say goodbye to duty, there was no shortage of memories of all those good times sitting at the conference table discussing an idea, and we even remember experiences that were not so pleasant, however, they were a fundamental part of everything lived and today we remember them with great affection, definitely an incomparable experience that helped me a lot for my personal growth, since it helped me to develop some skills and at the same time gifted me with a lot of good friends.
Uno de los muchachos tenía carro y ofreció llevarnos a casa más tarde, por lo cual, algunos de los muchachos nos pudimos quedar hasta un poco más tarde aunque algunos se tuvieron que ir, finalmente seguimos compartiendo un poco más, hasta que finalmente llegó la hora de partir, nos acomodamos como pudimos en su carro y continuamos conversando durante todo el camino, de una vez planeando cuando sería nuestro próximo encuentro.
One of the boys had a car and offered to take us home later, so some of the guys were able to stay until a little later although some had to go, finally we continued sharing a little more, until finally the time came. After leaving, we settled down as best we could in his car and continued talking all the way, at once planning when our next meeting would be.
En estos momentos donde debido a la pandemia que estamos viviendo debemos mantener al mínimo las reuniones de varias personas, es cuando más extraño este tipo de momentos, donde cualquier situación, como en este caso lo fue una pequeña reunión formal para culminar el ciclo de trabajo de un equipo, paso a ser una muy buena reunión de amigos llena de fotos y recuerdos memorables, que esperamos más pronto que tarde poder repetir.
In these moments where, due to the pandemic we are experiencing, we must keep the meetings of several people to a minimum, it is when I miss this type of moments the most, where any situation, as in this case it was a small formal meeting to complete the work cycle of a team, it turned out to be a very good meeting of friends full of photos and memorable memories, which we hope sooner rather than later to repeat.
