¿Alguna vez han colaborado en alguna obra de caridad? He tenido la suerte de participar en diversas obras de caridad como parte del equipo organizador y de verdad que la experiencia es muy satisfactoria. Como ya les he comentado, pertenezco a un grupo de jóvenes católicos que presta servicio en la parroquia Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria en distintas actividades de animación y evangelización, sin embargo, de vez en cuando colaboramos con fundaciones u otros jóvenes de otras parroquias para realizar grandes eventos, en esta ocasión, nos unimos con la fundación “Músicos por la vida” para realizar el concierto “Sembrando caridad”, que tenía como objetivos principal conseguir alimentos para donarlos a la “Fundación creo en ti” que se encarga de apoyar a niños y niñas de bajos recursos.
Have you ever collaborated in a charity? I have been lucky enough to participate in many charities as part of the organizing team and the experience is truly very satisfying. As I have already mentioned, I belong to a group of young Catholics who serve in “Our Lady of La Candelaria” parish in different activities of animation and evangelization, however, from time to time we collaborate with foundations or other young people from other parishes to carry out big events, on this occasion, we joined with the foundation "Músicos por la vida" to perform the concert "Sembrando Caridad", whose main objective was to get food to donate to the "Fundación creo en ti" that is responsible for supporting low-income children.
“Músicos por la vida”, busca realizar conciertos de música católica en alguna parroquia o comunidad, lo particular de este concierto, radica en que la entrada para el mismo no se paga con dinero, la misma se consigue donando algún alimento no perecedero para que estos puedan ser donados para algún fin en específico. Este concierto ha tenido varias ediciones en el pasado, y en cada ocasión los alimentos recaudados tuvieron distintos fines, sin embargo, esta vez, como ya mencioné, irían dirigidos a la “Fundación Creo en ti” cuya cede principal está ubicada en el interior del país y apoya a una gran cantidad de niños. Mis amigos y yo conocemos desde hace varios años a los organizadores del evento, por lo cual, cuando nos ofrecieron colaborar con la logística del concierto, no lo dudamos ni un segundo.
"Musicos por la vida" seeks to perform Catholic music concerts in a parish or community, the particularity of this concert is that the ticket for it’s not paid with money, it is obtained by donating some non-perishable food to be use for a specific purpose. This concert has had several editions in the past, and on each occasion the food collected had different purposes, however, this time, as I already mentioned, they would go to the “Fundación Creo en ti” whose main headquarters is located inside the country and supports a large number of children. My friends and I have known the organizers of the event for several years, so when they offered us to collaborate with the logistics of the concert, we did not hesitate for a second.
El evento se llevaría a cabo en una parroquia ubicada en El Cafetal, donde nos reunimos desde bien temprano todo el equipo y nos dedicamos a apoyar en las diversas labores logísticas, desde ayudar a los músicos con sus instrumentos, hasta acomodar los bancos de la iglesia para que los asistentes pudiesen sentarse sin estorbar a los cantantes, por lo cual, tuvimos un trabajo bastante movido.
The event would take place in a parish located in “El Cafetal”, where the entire team met very early and dedicated ourselves to supporting some logistical tasks, from helping musicians with their instruments, to accommodating the church pews for the assistants could sit down without disturbing the singers, which is why we had a very busy job.
Poco a poco comenzaron a llegar las personas y todo el templo estaba preparado para ello, nosotros nos encargamos de recibir y llevar un control de todos los alimentos que llegaron para posteriormente guardarlos y llevarlos a la fundación, este fue el momento más movido de la jornada, pues se debía tener cuidado con cada alimento recibido y anotarlo, además de recibir cálidamente a las personas y guiarlos a sus asientos.
People began to arrive and the whole temple was prepared for it, we took care of receiving and keeping track of all the food that arrived to later save it and take it to the foundation, this was the busiest moment of the day, because care had to be taken with each food received and noted down, in addition to warmly receive people and guiding them to their seats.
Una vez llegada la hora, el concierto dio inicio y nuestro trabajo se redujo un poco, ya habían llegado la mayoría de los interesados, por lo cual, nuestro trabajo consistía en vigilar que todo estuviera en orden, permanecer alertas en caso de que llegara algún rezagado al concierto y ayudar a los músicos con cualquier inconveniente.
Once the time had arrived, the concert began and our work slowed down a bit, most of the interested parties had already arrived, so our job consisted of making sure that everything was in order, staying alert in case someone arrived delayed to the concert and help the musicians with any inconvenience.
Una vez terminado el evento, llegó la hora de organizar todo lo recolectada, primero que nada, ayudamos a los músicos a desmontar todos sus instrumentos y equipos de sonidos, y luego nos dirigimos a la oficina para terminar de empacar y acomodar todo lo recolectado, eran diversas cajas, por lo cual nos dividimos en varios grupos para ayudar con la organización y posteriormente llevarlas a los autobuses que se las llevarían.
Once the event was over, it was time to organize everything collected, first of all, we helped the musicians to disassemble all their instruments and sound equipment, and then we went to the office to finish packing and accommodating everything collected, they were different boxes, so we divided into several groups to help with the organization and later take them to the buses that would take them.
Finalmente, una vez organizado y empacado todo, los diversos autobuses se llevaron las cajas para trasportarlas a la fundación, luego de esto, tuvimos un pequeño momento con algunos de los músicos, que se quedaron con nosotros conversando y bromeando un poco, además de tocas algunas canciones para animar el ambiente, un momento mu agradable de verdad. A veces creemos que ninguno de nosotros puede generar un verdadero cambio en la sociedad, sin embargo, siempre podemos colaborar para que este cambio sea posible, desde tener una pequeña iniciativa propia, hasta colaborar con alguna fundación, todos podemos generar un cambio, solo hace falta tener disposición.
Finally, once everything was organized and packed, the buses took the boxes to transport them to the foundation, after that, we had a little moment with some of the musicians, who stayed with us talking and joking a bit, in addition to playing some songs to liven up the atmosphere, a really nice moment. Sometimes we believe that none of us can generate a true change in society, however, we can always collaborate to make this change possible, from having a small initiative of our own, to collaborating with a foundation, we can all generate a change, we only need some disposition.
