I have to admit I was less than thrilled when my daughter hatched a plan of meeting me at a dollhouse museum in Kentucky. As a bit of backstory, I had moved away from Michigan back in June. Try as I might, I was not able to persuade my daughter to move with Ben and I to Virginia. She had both friends and a boyfriend in Michigan and decided to stay close to them.
For the record, I blame my reticence concerning meeting at the dollhouse museum on simply being a guy. However, in retrospect, I am very glad that I went. Not only was meeting my daughter beyond exceptional, the dollhouse exceeded my expectations by a long shot. You see, I am a firm believer in managing expectations. In fact, back in the day I actually did a video about how to live a happier life and the theme of that video was to manage expectations.
Having been a stockbroker in a previous life, or so it seems, this one was dear to my heart because it features an old ticker tape machine LOL.
Oh sweet, a billiard room is a must. You know how it is with guys!
One of my favorite things about the whole museum is seeing the miniature oil paintings that are featured in many of the rooms.
The size of the frame and canvas is just so tiny, I just don't know how in the world they were able to paint such little paintings. That kind of minute detail is what I find terribly interesting.

Let me include my finger for a bit of detail and size comparison.
Of course if the main picture is not minute enough to suit your fancy, look at the tiny, tiny, tiny picture in the background! I find it just totally amazing.
The forethought and craftsmanship of these miniatures beyond belief.
Much like the debate about which is better, a Ford or Chevy, there seems to be a debate in the townhouse community as to whether the scenes are better with or without figurines. What do you think?
Wonder what Johnny Depp thinks?
Another advantage of using Hive is that one can then take so many photos off of your hard drive. I like to think that high will be around as a repository for mine and all of your photos for many decades to come.
