Beds! A week in the new House

Beds delivered!

Its been a full 7 days since we moved into the new house which is the base for skogenbosque.com, and today I finally have time to catch up on Hive. Its been a mission with no car and not knowing where to call to get what, and the landlady misinformed me about the gas bottle situation and lead me to believe that we only needed a top up, when actually we needed to buy gas bottles. We now have gas, a fridge, a cooker, hot water, and in an hour finally we shall have wifi, maybe.

The project is going very well and in January people start to arrive from various countries. The founding members are motivated already semi offgriders and all really nice people, and nearly all of them have children!

We just had beds delivered and then they had to go into the rooms. We were sleeping on piles of curtains the first nights then upgraded to sleeping bags and now we have beds!!

We had 4 double beds with mattresses delivered in total..

..and as usual I forgot to tale photos from the beginning!

They were too heavy to take up the stairs so I had to take them in two pieces and take off the slats. The first bed to go to its room was on the ground floor and was easy.

At first I was going to but the bed here but it went better in the other part of the room

... and there is a Spiral Staircase!

It wasn't so bad, I managed to use the roof of the shed and someone helped me. The room needs painting for sure, but once it is, it will be an even nicer space.

Gagging for some paint in here, its looking a bit minging!!

The house was previously used as a rehab home for drug addicts and alchos, and my guess is it hasn't been used in a year.

I have to go now and restore the spiral stair case steps, I got some used engine oils from a mechanics and it makes a great oil for wood and reuses up something that is hard to dispose off..

Ill remember to take photos from the start this time!
