The family alerted me to a very low flying hot air balloon almost right over our house today.
I could hear the burner when it was about 15 meters over the house as it passed.
It landed on a field close to us. It took several minutes for the balloon to empty.
I asked the people in the picture permission to take and publish it. The man in the red jacket is the pilot from what I understood. A flight costs €250 per hour plus maybe a quarter of an hour depending on how long it takes to find a suitable landing site. The balloon and the basket fits into a van.
The basket weighs about 100 kg without the gas bottles, which means it should be easy for four men to carry it and load it into the van or a sleigh if a frozen lake or a field with lots of snow on it are used as landing sites.
