At The Airshow Watching The Red Arrows

A few miles from where I live is the town of Eastbourne. Every year they put on a free airshow, although there was a break when covid struck the country. The show runs for 3 days and attracts people from far and wide. The fact that it is free helps to boost its popularity.

Being England, the weather often plays a part in how well the airshow goes. There have been years when the weather has been so bad that a good proportion of the aircraft being displayed have been grounded Thankfully, so far, the weather has been kind. Eastbourne is a seaside town so all of the aircraft fly across the seafront, which makes for a great backdrop for the aircraft being displayed.

The highlight of the show every day is the display given by the Red Arrows. The Red Arows are the Royal Air Force's aerobatic team. Flying in close formation at high speed and displaying their skills in various manoeuvres, they are always popular with the crowd.

Yesterday was a beautiful warm sunny day, a perfect day to sit on the beach, enjoy the sun and watch the show. Unfortunately my photos, which were taken on my phone, cannot convey what it's like to be there.

All photos are my own taken on my Android phone.
