Although I have visited the state of Carabobo on many occasions, most of the time it has been in transit for a few hours on the way to western lands. And the few times I have stayed overnight, for various reasons, it has been far from the historic center of the city of Valencia, in the northern and central region of Venezuela.
It is located only about 150 km from the capital. It is one of the most important cities in Venezuela, due to its great regional economic activity, which has allowed it to play a decisive political role in national history. Some old buildings in the center evoke that past.
I was impressed by how well preserved and restored several of these colonial and republican period buildings are. In addition, the center is very busy during the day and even has a fledgling nightlife around the Municipal Theater late into the night.
I walked along an extensive boulevard surrounded by all kinds of shops called Paseo Cabriales, which runs along the side of the Bolívar Plaza, which stands out for how excessively clean it is, something I also noticed in some of the surrounding streets.
There was a mural that caught my attention, because it reminded me of the pixel art that has been very popular in recent years, except that this one dates back to 64 of the last century. So the technique will obviously have another name.
I confess that this is a superficial look at the barely 3 days I was recently in the Carabobo city. However, I come away with a very good impression for being a space that I did not know and it seemed to me a generally pleasant area to walk around.

Mirada al casco histórico de Valencia, Carabobo.
Aunque he visitado en muchas oportunidades el estado Carabobo, la mayoría de las veces ha sido de tránsito de pocas horas camino a tierras occidentales. Y las pocas veces que me he quedado a dormir, por distintas razones, ha sido lejos del casco histórico de la ciudad de Valencia, en la región norte y central de Venezuela,
Está ubicada a tan solo unos 150 km de la capital. Es una de las ciudades más importantes de Venezuela, debido a su gran actividad económica regional, le ha permitido jugar un rol político decisivo en la historia nacional. Algunas antiguas edificaciones en el centro recuerdan ese pasado.
Me impresionó lo bien conservadas y restauradas que se ven varias de estas edificaciones del periodo colonial y republicano. Además, el centro es muy transitado durante el día e incluso cuenta con una incipiente vida nocturna alrededor del Teatro Municipal hasta bien avanzada la noche.
Recorrí un extenso bulevar rodeado de comercios de todo tipo llamado Paseo Cabriales, que atraviesa por un costado las instalaciones de la Plaza Bolívar, la cual destaca por lo excesivamente limpia que se encuentra, algo que también noté en algunas calles de alrededor.
Hubo un mural que me llamó la atención, porque me recordó a los pixel art muy en boga los últimos años, solo que este data del año 64 del siglo pasado. Así que evidentemente la técnica tendrá otro nombre.
Confieso que es una mirada superficial de los apenas 3 días que estuve recientemente en la ciudad carabobeña. Sin embargo, me llevo una muy buena impresión para ser un espacio que no conocía y me pareció una buena zona en general, agradable para caminar.
