Computers For All Campaign
Last Friday May 10th we had another great nft exhibition in Wynwood, Miami but this time we included the digital artists from the non profit organization "The On It Foundation". This non profit organization helps economically challenged children and their families by providing them with computers and educational STEM workshops.
The NFT exhibition took place at our gallery studio named Miart Space. The gallery space is located in Wynwood which is the main art district in Miami, Florida. Since last fall 2021 we haven't stopped exhibiting cryptoart at the gallery and I definitely find it fascinating since now the artworks get a global exposure. We posted some of the exhibition info in our twitter account: https://twitter.com/ArtAtelierMiami
The On It Foundation was created by Ms Calvetta Pheir who was also present at the past nft show in Wynwood. Her story is very interesting since she created the foundation based on her own personal story. When her child was young she needed a computer but they couldn't afford it, this is when she started knocking doors and making calls to find a computer donation.
Nowadays where technology rules, having the appropriate computer knowledge is very important. The On It foundation provides STEM (acronym that stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workshops for children from Kinder to 12th grade.
Don't forget that lower income families, people with less education, those with disabilities, Blacks, Hispanics, and rural residents generally lagged the national average in both broadband adoption and computer use. You could check out her beautiful mission or give them a donation directly in their website https://theonitfoundation.org/donations/
Thanks for taking your time in reading this post. During these rough times it feels refreshing to wake up humanitarian activities like this one.
The photo images I used in this post belong to myself :)
