I just remember my very first experience of flying a lantern with all our wishes written on it and this happened in Shifen Old Street in Taiwan. It was our last itinerary for the day, and I’m so glad we made it to this place. To be honest it was my favorite spot for the entire itinerary that day because for the first time I saw a real train pass by in front of me. The experience gave me a laidback mood because of the architecture and lights all around.

It was raining at that time so you will see a few people on the street but it can be very crowded especially if it’s fine weather. There were a lot of food stalls in the corner and they all look so enticing and yummy. How I wish I could try everything but as we reached the end of the road we were all full.

Visiting Shifen Old Street is recommended if you want to be in a place that is not trying hard to be picturesque or Instagram-worthy because this place has its own charm.
