Serpents of Phousi

It was super hot, but I needed some photos of the pagoda on Mt. Phousi so I could start painting it. I hopped on my bike and took pictures along the way, and hiked up the steps. It only costs a dollar to get to the top, but no one is collecting tickets early in the morning or at night. These sea serpents are mystical creatures in Buddhism adopted from Hinduism. They live in the river and can breathe fire so that's why many local people never dare swim in the rivers.
