Blue, the trash penguin on the beach in Vietnam, and other photos from the beach too!

HI Friends,

Here in Danang, there are blue penguins on the beach that eat food, and they are not real; no, they are fake, but still, it's sorta strange. I mean, YES, penguins in the wild eat trash, so perhaps its a reminder that when you put trash in the penguin's mouth, you are keeping it out of the month of a real penguins? IDK... any ways, I was sorta inspired by this rubbish bin and wrote a tale about it.

So, enjoy the story and other photos from the beach.

Today let's speak about "Blue". He (it) was a penguin trash can on a beach in Vietnam. His big mouth opened so that people could put trash in it. He was supposed to help keep the beach clean and make people happy. But Blue was not happy. He was sad and lonely.

Blue did not like eating trash. It made him feel sick and dirty. He wanted to eat fish and ice cream like the other penguins he saw on TV, and not old sandals and soda bottles. He also wanted to have friends and play with them, not just be a insta pic. But no one ever talked to him or played with him. They just threw trash in his mouth and walked away with a giggle.

Blue wished he could leave the beach and go elsewhere but had no feet or other work. He wanted to go somewhere where he could be free and happy. Somewhere, he could find someone who would love him for who he was, not for what he did.

One day, Blue saw a little girl walking on the beach with her parents. She had a pink dress and a big smile and a ball. She looked at Blue with curiosity and wonder. She ran towards him and said hello.

"Hi, I'm Lily," she said. "What's your name?"

Blue was surprised that someone had talked to him. He opened his mouth and said, "I'm Blue."

Lily giggled. "That's a funny name for a blue penguin," she said.

Blue felt embarrassed. "I know," he said.

Lily smiled again. "I like it," she said. "You're adorable."

Blue felt something warm in his chest; perhaps it was the discarded cigarette from the last person burning or the afternoon's sun roasting the discarded club sandwich... but what ever it was. He liked Lily too.

"Do you want to play with me?" Lily asked.

Blue nodded eagerly.

Lily took out a ball from her backpack and threw it to Blue.

"Here, catch!" she said.

Blue caught the ball in his mouth and threw (up) it back to Lily, coved in a bit of 'cute' penguin trash can goo.

They played catch for a while, laughing and having fun.

Blue felt happier than ever before.

He forgot about his sadness and loneliness.

He forgot about the trash in his belly that smelled of day-old sun-weathered fish.

He only thought about Lily and how much he liked her.

(end)

Well, that was a strange tale for you to enjoy.

Have a great day and see you tomorrow.
