Greetings to all the members of this innovative community. When I see in the garden the leaves of my plants with holes with marks like bitten, I imagine that it is a worm or an insect that is eating them. That's when the worry starts, because sometimes we are careless and they end up with the whole plant...it's sad. Like for example, my basil plant, that I have been seeing for days that its leaves have holes in them, and I don't know what animal is affecting it.
These days my nephews were playing in the garden and called me to see something they discovered. When I arrived, as it was already at dusk, a little dark, I tell them that I can't make out what it is. As I got closer, I saw the size of this worm, incredible, its color, as green as the plant where it was eating, made it imperceptible... a perfect camouflage. It was with a mouthful of leaves in its mouth, I could see how it was eating it little by little. I tried to take some pictures of this specimen with my redmi8 cell phone and these are the ones I show you here.
Did you know that worms are not insects?...at first I classified them all as insects hahaha, but in this case they are not. Insects have legs, at least 6, and worms don't, they crawl and you can't see long legs or antennae anywhere. By the way, I was able to take a picture of how this worm clings tightly to the plant with a kind of small claws, which help it not to fall. So much so, that I manipulated and bent the plant in different ways and this worm did not even move, hahaha, it has "grip strength".
Like this green worm, there are other varieties of them that can be in the garden and kill the plants. If they are caterpillars, they must eat a lot to be able to develop their new body that is on its way, when it achieves all its transformation process. These worms are part of nature that is perfectly made, and I find them beautiful in their space, and they are so because they have an intelligent and perfect designer, God.

Saludos a todos los miembros de esta innovadora comunidad. Cuando veo en el jardín las hojas de mis plantas con huecos con marcas como de mordidas, me imagino que es un gusano o un insecto que se las está comiendo. Allí empieza la preocupación, pues algunas veces nos descuidamos y acaban con toda la planta...es triste. Cómo por ejemplo, mi planta de albahaca, que tengo días viendo que sus hojas tienen huecos, y no se que animal la está afectando.
En estos días mis sobrinos estaban jugando en el jardín y me llaman para que vea algo que descubrieron. Cuando llegó, como era ya al atardecer, un poco oscuro, les digo que no logro divisar que es. Al acercarme bien, veo el tamaño de este gusano, increíble, su color tan verde como el de la planta donde estaba comiendo, lo hacía imperceptible...un camuflaje perfecto. Estaba con un bocado de hojas en su boca, se veía como se la comía poco a poco. Trate de hacer unas fotos de este ejemplar con mi teléfono celular redmi8 y son las que les muestro aquí.
Sabían que los gusanos no son insectos?.. yo al principio los clasificaba a todos como insectos jajaja, pero en este caso no. Los insectos poseen patas, al menos 6 y los gusanos no, ellos se arrastran y no se les ve patas o antenas largas por ningún lado. Por cierto pude sacar la foto de como este gusano se agarra con fuerza a la planta con una especie de pequeñas garras, que la ayudan a no caerse. Es tanto así,que yo manipule y doble de diversas formas la planta y este gusano ni se movió, jajaja, tiene "fuerza de agarre".
Cómo este gusano verde, hay otras variedades de ellos que pueden estar en el jardín y acabar con las plantas. Ellos si son orugas deben comer mucho para poder desarrollar su nuevo cuerpo que viene en camino, cuando logra todo su proceso de transformación. Estos gusanos son parte de la naturaleza que está hecha perfectamente, y me parecen hermosos en su espacio, y son así porque tienen un diseñador inteligente y perfecto, Dios.
