My Card Collection Optimization and the Great Usefulness of Peakmonsters
I finished the last season of Splinterlands, which ended yesterday, in the number 587 ranking of Diamond League with a rating score of 3125 points.
My goal is to at least return to the Champion III league, but the battle strength of my card collection still doesn't allow me to achieve my goal.
In order to return to the Champion leagues from which I have been missing for a long time I need to optimize my card collection.
The activity of optimizing one's card collection is an important activity for every Splinterlands player and it is also an activity that I like to do.
The optimization activity of my card collection consists of:
- buying cards that are useful in battle
- selling cards that are not very useful in battle and/or that I never use in battle
- sell cards that are objectively useful in battle but only at a certain level and that I have no intention of upgrading.
Today I want to show how I perform the activity of optimizing my card collection, and I also want to show the usefulness of the Peakmonsters site in performing this activity.
The choice of purchase target
When I don't have already in origin a clear objective of purchase in order to estimate and to choose some possible objectives of purchase I use the very useful site of Peakmonsters.
My starting point is the Buy section of the Peakmonsters site and I set the view mode to LIST.
This way I can see in one screen a lot of useful information such as:
- the complete statistics of a card (levels, battle attributes and skills)
- the best purchase offer (Highest Bid)
- the market value
- the lowest price on the market for a single card (Low Buy)
- the lowest price per BCX (purchase price of cards resulting from the combination of 2 or more cards)
- ...
The great usefulness of the Peakmonsters site is in the wide variety of filters available that allow to speed up and narrow down the search for cards to buy or sell.
In the following image you can see the filters available within the Buy section but each section has specific and useful filters for the actions available within that section.
For example if I want to see all the cards that have the ability Heal and that are part of the collections Untamed, Dice and Chaos Legion I have to:
- enter in the search field CARD NAME/ ID / ABILITY the word Heal.
- select the symbols of the editions of the cards that interest me
From the application of the filters I get, in a single screen, the list of all the cards with the Heal ability that are on sale on the market accompanied by many useful information.
If I wanted to collect the same information using the Splinterlands website I would have to spend a lot of time because in the Market section of the Splinterlands website there is no filter that allows me to select only the cards that have a specific ability.
Even if I don't need to make a research because I have already identified a precise purchase objective, the operation of evaluation and study of a card from the Splinterlands site is still less efficient than the same operation made from the Peakmonsters site.
In fact from the Market section of Splinterlands I don't have the possibility to see Statistics and Prices of a card in a single screen but I have to pass from one to the other or I have to open two screens from the browser.
The choice of sales targets
Peakmonsters is also very helpful to me in researching and choosing cards to sell.
From the My Cards section I can view all the cards that compose my card collection.
In the My Cards section there are many more filters to choose from than in the Buy section.
If, for example, I want to search and display cards in my collection that:
- are not for sale on the market
- I have not inserted in the rental list
- are not delegated to another account
- are my property
I have to insert the following filters:
- On Market: No
- For Rent: No
- Delegated: No
- Owned: Yes
A practical example of optimization
Now I want to show a practical example that demonstrates the usefulness of Peakmonsters in the task of optimizing my card collection.
From the last Airdrop of Splinterlands I received 4 Spirit Hoarder cards of level 1.
Spirit Hoarder is a very useful card in battle because it has:
- a very low mana cost: 3 points
- has very good abilities: Triage, Dispel and Blind
- can be used very often in battle because it is a neutral card and can be summoned by all summoners.
Spirit Hoarder is also a purchase goal of mine because I would like to upgrade it to the maximum level (level 4).
To upgrade Spirit Hoarder to level 4 I need to buy 7 level 1 cards and then combine them with the 4 cards I already have in my collection.
To immediately upgrade Spirit Hoarder to level 4 I have two options:
- Buy 1 level 3 Spirit Hoarder card + 1 level 1 Spirit Hoarder card from the market. Total cost: $60,670.
- make an offer to buy at a lower price (BID)
When I make a BID I enter the price per BCX one cent higher than the best BID bid on the market.
In the case of Spirit Hoader my BID might be as follows:
Price per BCX: $8,202.
Total BCX: 7
Highest Level Card (BCX): 7
Once I've decided on my purchase goal I can move on to evaluating possible cards to sell.
Typically my first search is to locate cards that have similar or lower stats and the same abilities as my target purchase.
For this reason from the My Cards section of Peakmonsters I enter the word Triage in the search field to look for cards I have in my collection that have or could have, if upgraded, the same ability as Spirit Hoader.
In view of the future division of the leagues of Splinterlands in Old Format and New Format I also insert the filter to select only the cards of the Untamed, Dice and Chaos Legion collections to not remove from my collection cards that may be useful in the future.
Thanks to Peakmonsters' compact display I can immediately spot two cards that have elements in common with Spirit Hoader:
- the Triage ability
- a mana cost less than or equal to 3 points
The two cards I have identified are:
- Herbalist
- Angelic Mandarin
I have 19 level 1 Herbalist cards that I have never used in battle.
Herbalist level 1 is a card that I consider not useful in battle especially when used in more advanced leagues.
It becomes more useful in battle when it acquires the Triage ability (level 8) and when it increases its attack points by one unit: 1->2 (level 10).
However, to bring Herbalist to the maximum level I would have to spend about 520$ and buy 381 BCX.
With the addition of level 10 Herbalist to my card collection I would not be increasing the battle strength of my collection by much, and by the way I have alternatives to choose from that I consider better.
I have quickly identified a card that I can sell!
In my card collection I have 43 Angelic Mandarin cards of level 1.
With 43 cards available I could upgrade Angelic Mandarin to level 5 which I think is the level that has the best utility/price ratio.
I decided to sell all my Angelic Mandarin cards because:
- if I add Spirit Hoarder level 4 to my card collection I could use Angelic Mandarin only when the battle rule prohibits me to use neutral cards while in other cases I would prefer to always use Spirit Hoader.
- Even if upgraded to the highest level I would hardly use Angelic Mandarin because I have better alternatives in my collection.
- The summoners that I use do not have the ability to increase the attack of Angelic Mandarin.
Before making the final decision I like to compare cards to sell and cards to buy by looking at their max level stats.
Ok decision made!
I've decided to sell:
- 19 level 1 Herbalist cards
- 43 Angelic Mandarin level 1 cards
If I manage to sell all the cards I listed above I will lose 720 Power Points but gain 35.49$.
After selling the cards I listed above I will buy 7 Spirit Hoarder level 1 cards and spend $60.69.
If I successfully complete the sale and purchase transactions, I will have a very useful card in battle, Spirit Hoarder level 4, and I will have spent only $25.20 to obtain it.
Conclusion
Today I wanted to show:
- how I perform the operations of optimization of my collection of cards when I identify a card to buy
- one of the many utilities that has the site Peakmonsters whose use speeds up the operations of sale, purchase and optimization of the collection of cards.
I hope my post is useful especially to new players of Splinterlands and those who do not know the site Peakmonsters.

Any game that involves the purchase of cards and tokens is never a simple game but it is also an investment and should be considered as such.

Ho concluso l'ultima stagione di Splinterlands, terminata ieri, al posto numero 587 della classifica Diamond con un punteggio di rating di 3125 punti.
Il mio obiettivo è di tornare almeno nella lega Champion III ma la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte non mi permette ancora di raggiungere il mio obiettivo.
Per ritornare nelle leghe Champion da cui manco da molto tempo ho bisogno di ottimizzare la mia collezione di carte.
L'attività di ottimizzazione della propria collezione di carte è un'attività importante per ogni giocatore di Splinterlands ed è anche un'attività che mi piace fare.
L'attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte consiste nel:
- acquistare carte che sono utili in battaglia
- vendere le carte che sono poco utili in battaglia e/o che non utilizzo mai in battaglia
- vendere le carte che sono oggettivamente utili in battaglia ma solo ad un determinato livello e che non ho intenzione di potenziare
Oggi voglio mostrare come svolgo l'attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte e voglio anche mostrare l'utilità del sito di Peakmonsters nello svolgere questa attività.
La scelta dell'obiettivo di acquisto
Quando non ho già in partenza un chiaro obiettivo di acquisto per valutare e scegliere dei possibili obiettivi di acquisto utilizzo l'utilissimo sito di Peakmonsters.
Il mio punto di partenza è la sezione Buy del sito di Peakmonsters e imposto la visualizzazione su LIST.
In questo modo posso vedere in un'unica schermata tante informazioni utili come ad esempio:
- le statistiche complete di una carta (livelli, attributi di battaglia e abilità)
- la migliore offerta di acquisto (Highest Bid)
- il valore di mercato
- il prezzo più basso sul mercato per singola carta (Low Buy)
- il prezzo più basso per BCX (prezzo dell'acquisto di carte risultato della combinazione di 2 o più carte)
- ...
La grande utilità del sito di Peakmonsters è nella grande varietà di filtri disponibili che permettono di velocizzare e restringere la ricerca delle carte da acquistare o da vendere.
Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i filtri disponibili all'interno della sezione Buy ma ogni sezione ha dei filtri specifici e utili per le azioni disponibili all'interno di quella sezione.
Ad esempio se voglio vedere tutte le carte che hanno l'abilità Heal e che fanno parte delle collezioni Untamed, Dice e Chaos Legion devo:
- inserire nel campo di ricerca CARD NAME/ ID / ABILITY la parola Heal.
- selezionare i simboli delle edizioni delle carte che mi interessano
Dall'applicazione dei filtri ottengo, in una sola schermata, l'elenco di tutte le carte con l'abilità Heal che sono in vendita sul mercato corredate da tante utili informazioni.
Se volessi raccogliere le stesse informazioni utilizzando il sito di Splinterlands dovrei impiegare molto tempo perchè nella sezione Market del sito di Splinterlands non c'è un filtro che mi permette di selezionare solo le carte che hanno una precisa abilità.
Anche se non ho bisogno di effettuare una ricerca perchè ho già individuato un obiettivo di acquisto preciso l'operazione di valutazione e studio di una carta dal sito di Splinterlands è comunque meno efficiente rispetto alla stessa operazione effettuata dal sito di Peakmonsters.
Infatti dalla sezione Market di Splinterlands non ho la possibilità di vedere Statistiche e Prezzi di una carta in una sola schermata ma devo passare da una all'altra o devo aprire due schermate dal browser.
La scelta degli obiettivi di vendita
Peakmonsters mi è molto utile anche nella ricerca e scelta delle carte da vendere.
Dalla sezione My Cards posso visualizzare tutte le carte che compongono la mia collezione di carte.
Nella sezione My Cards ci sono molti più filtri tra cui scegliere rispetto alla sezione Buy.
Se ad esempio voglio ricercare e visualizzare le carte nella mia collezione che:
- non sono in vendita sul mercato
- non ho inserito nella lista del noleggio
- non sono delegate ad un'altro account
- sono di mia proprietà
devo inserire i seguenti filtri:
- On Market: No
- For Rent: No
- Delegated: No
- Owned: Yes
Un esempio pratico di ottimizzazione
Adesso voglio mostrare un esempio pratico che mostra l'utilità di Peakmonsters nella attività di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte.
Dall'ultimo Airdrop di Splinterlands ho ricevuto 4 carte Spirit Hoarder di livello 1.
Spirit Hoarder è una carta molto utile in battaglia perchè ha:
- un costo in mana molto basso: 3 punti
- ha ottime abilità: Triage, Dispel e Blind
- può essere utilizzata molto spesso in battaglia perchè è una carta neutrale e può essere evocata da tutti gli evocatori.
Spirit Hoarder è anche un mio obiettivo di acquisto perchè vorrei potenziarla al massimo livello (livello 4).
Per portare Spirit Hoarder al livello 4 ho bisogno di comprare 7 carte di livello 1 per poi combinarle alle 4 carte che ho già nella mia collezione.
Per potenziare subito Spirit Hoarder al livello 4 ho due possibilità:
- acquistare 1 carta Spirit Hoarder di livello 3 + 1 carta Spirit Hoarder di livello 1 dal mercato. Costo totale: 60.670$.
- fare un'offerta di acquisto ad un prezzo inferiore (BID)
Quando faccio un'offerta BID inserisco il prezzo per BCX di un centesimo di dollaro superiore alla migliore offerta BID presente sul mercato.
Nel caso di Spirit Hoader la mia offerta BID potrebbe essere la seguente:
Price per BCX: 8.202$
Total BCX: 7
Highest Level Card (BCX): 7
Una volta che ho deciso il mio obiettivo di acquisto posso passare alla valutazione delle possibili carte da vendere.
In genere la mia prima ricerca è quella di individuare carte che hanno statistiche simili o inferiori e le stesse abilità del mio obiettivo di acquisto.
Per questo motivo dalla sezione My Cards di Peakmonsters inserisco nel campo di ricerca la parola Triage per cercare le carte che ho nella mia collezione che hanno o potrebbero avere, se potenziate, la stessa abilità di Spirit Hoader.
In vista della futura divisione delle leghe di Splinterlands in Old Format e New Format inserisco anche il filtro per selezionare solo le carte delle collezioni Untamed, Dice e Chaos Legion per non togliere dalla mia collezione carte che mi potranno essere utili in futuro.
Grazie alla visualizzazione compatta di Peakmonsters individuo subito due carte che hanno degli elementi in comune con Spirit Hoader:
- l'abilità Triage
- un costo in mana minore o uguale a 3 punti
Le due carte che ho individuato sono:
- Herbalist
- Angelic Mandarin
Ho 19 carte Herbalist di livello 1 che non ho mai utilizzato in battaglia.
Herbalist di livello 1 è una carta che considero poco utile in battaglia soprattutto se utilizzata nelle leghe più avanzate.
Diventa più utile in battaglia quando acquisische l'abilità Triage (livello 8) e quando aumenta i suoi punti di attacco di un'unità (livello 10).
Però per portare Herbalist al livello massimo dovrei spendere circa 520$ e comprare 381 BCX.
Con l'aggiunta di Herbalist di livello 10 alla mia collezione di carte non aumenterei di molto la forza in battaglia della mia collezione e tra l'altro ho alternative tra cui scegliere che considero migliori.
Ho individuato in poco tempo una carta che posso vendere!
Nella mia collezione di carte ho 43 carte Angelic Mandarin di livello 1.
Con 43 carte a disposizione potrei potenziare Angelic Mandarin al livello 5 che secondo me è il livello che ha il miglior rapporto utilità/prezzo.
Ho deciso di vendere tutte le mie carte Angelic Mandarin perchè:
- se aggiungo Spirit Hoarder di livello 4 alla mia collezione di carte potrei utilizzare Angelic Mandarin solo quando la regola di battaglia mi vieta di usare le carte neutrali mentre negli altri casi preferirei utilizzare sempre Spirit Hoader.
- anche se potenziata al massimo livello difficilmente userei spesso Angelic Mandarin perchè ho alternative migliori nella mia collezione
- gli evocatori che utilizzo io non hanno l'abilità di aumentare l'attacco di Angelic Mandarin.
Prima di prendere la decisione finale mi piace confrontare le carte da vendere e le carte da comprare guardando le loro statistiche di livello massimo.
Ok decisione presa!
Ho deciso di vendere:
- 19 carte Herbalist di livello 1
- 43 carte Angelic Mandarin di livello 1
Se riuscirò a vendere tutte le carte che ho elencato sopra perderò 720 punti Power ma guadagnerò 35.49$.
Dopo aver venduto le carte che ho elencato prima comprerò 7 carte Spirit Hoarder di livello 1 e spenderò 60.69$.
Se concluderò le operazioni di vendita e di acquisto con successo avrò una carta molto utile in battaglia, Spirit Hoarder di livello 4, e per ottenerla avrò speso solo 25.20$.
Conclusione
Oggi ho voluto mostrare:
- come effettuo le operazioni di ottimizzazione della mia collezione di carte quando individuo una carta da acquistare
- una delle tante utilità che ha il sito di Peakmonsters il cui utilizzo velocizza le operazioni di vendita, acquisto e di ottimizzazione della collezioni di carte.
Spero che il mio post sia utile soprattutto ai nuovi giocatori Splinterlands e a chi non conosce il sito di Peakmonsters.
