Yesterday we took part in the kite festival, an event that takes place every year in the wonderful city of Margherita di Savoia and which attracts many participants from all over the world, as well as numerous enthusiasts. Among the most active fans there are certainly children, they adore colorful kites and the older they are, the more they are amazed by them.
The event is absolutely free, the beach is free and access is guaranteed to anyone. Early in the morning, the teams started installing their works. The wind is quite strong and the climatic conditions are really favourable, a splendid sunny day which has encouraged hundreds of people to go here to the beach.
Despite the wind, it was not easy to fly the bigger kites especially: in fact the procedure requires a preparation of up to 30 minutes and several attempts before seeing these giants in flight, free to fly and held still only by a firmly attached rope to sandbags.
The giant alien was definitely one of my favourites, seeing the big shadow hanging in the air cast on the sand was fantastic. Observing this giant, at least ten meters long, above our heads was fascinating! The same team then flew a kite with multiple aliens of different colors and sizes, a beautiful eye-catcher!
Superheroes such as Spiderman and Hulk could not be missing, but also many animals such as the giant squid, the octopus, the frog! My favorite was the Chinese dragon, a long red dragon waving high in the sky! Marvelous! The best show was watching all the colorful kites in the sky, of different sizes and colors but overall it looked like a colorful sky! Plenty of photography enthusiasts were there to capture the best ones, but in my opinion all of them were really good looking.
For the little ones it was also possible to buy a mini kite to color at that time, as well as a flyer which tells the story of kites and some tricks on their making. A really lovely day in which my son enjoyed the handcrafted masterpieces but he also played a lot with sand and water. A very special day for him!

Ieri abbiamo partecipato al festival degli aquiloni, un evento che si ripete ogni anno sulla meravigliosa della città di Margherita di Savoia e che attrae molti partecipanti da tutto il mondo, oltre a numerosi appassionati. Tra i fan più attivi ci sono sicuramente i bambini, loro adorano gli aquiloni colorati e più sono grandi, più ne sono meravigliati.
L'evento è assolutamente gratuito, la spiaggia è libera e l'accesso è garantito a chiunque. Sin dal primo mattino, i team hanno iniziato l'installazione delle loro opere. Il vento è abbastanza sostenuto e le condizioni climatiche sono davvero favorevoli, una splendida giornata di sole che ha incentivate centinaia di persone a dirigersi qui in spiaggia.
Nonostante il vento, non è stato comunque facile far volare soprattutto gli aquiloni più grandi: infatti la procedura richiede una preparazione anche di 30 minuti e diversi tentavi prima di vedere questi giganti in volo, liberi di volare e tenuti fermi solo da una corda saldamente attaccata ai sacchi di sabbia.
L'alieno gigante è stato di certo tra i miei preferiti, vederlo sospeso in aria, la grande ombra proiettata sulla sabbia è stato fantastico. Osservare questo gigante, lungo almeno una decina di metri, sopra le nostre teste è stato affascinante! Lo stesso team ha poi fatto volare un aquilone con più alieni di colore e dimensioni differenti, un bellissimo effetto d'occhio!
Non potevano mancare i supereroi come Spiderman e Hulk, ma anche molti animali come il calamaro gigante, la piovra, la rana! Il mio preferito è stato il drago cinese, un lungo drago rosso che sventolava in alto nel cielo! Meraviglioso! Lo spettacolo più bello è stato la visione di tutto gli aquiloni colorati in cielo, di diverse dimensioni e colori ma nel complesso sembrava un cielo colorato! Moltissimi appassionati di fotografie erano presenti per catturare i migliori, ma a mio giudizio tutti erano davvero belli.
Per i più piccoli era possibile acquistare anche un mini aquilone da colorare in quel momento, oltre ad un volantino in cui si narra la storia degli aquiloni e alcuni trucchi sulla loro realizzazione. Una giornata davvero incantevole in cui mio figlio ha gioito per i capolavori artigianali ma ha anche giocato molto con la sabbia e l'acqua. Una giornata davvero speciale per lui!
