Good evening family of hive. It is another faithful Tuesday. I am going to run a little summary on the book of Second Samuel chapter 6.
This book is very interesting because of the event that took place and was recorded for us to read and study to learn lessons and apply wisdom to our lives.
Key Verses in second Samuel chapter 6
Verses 1-2: David gathers 30,000 men to bring the Ark of the Covenant from Kiriath Jearim to Jerusalem.
From the Verses above we can see value and the need of God or God's presence in the mist of his people. David knows that if God's presence is not with them, the tendency of Lossing is heightened.
Truly, this stands out for me today that if am empty of God's presence, then am indeed empty. What I need is to bring his presence back. How can I do that? I can do that by seeking His face through prayers and studying His word and at the same time take a bold step in seeking him all the time because he said if we seek him, we will find him.
Verses 3-5: They locate the ark of God which represents the presence of God and then place the Ark on a new cart and celebrate with music and dancing.
I want you to understand something from the Verses above. The bible says they place the ark on a new cart. This shows that the cart was corrupt and the new cart was pour. In the same vein, for you to seek God and find Him or Bring His presence into your life, your life needs to be renewed, free from sin.
Verses 6-7: Uzzah touches the Ark to steady it when the oxen stumble, resulting in his death as a consequence of disobedience to God's command regarding the Ark.
From the above verses it's obvious that no man is powerful enough to help God. If you you try it, you are looking for a problem.
Verses 8-11: David becomes angry and fearful; he temporarily leaves the Ark at the house of Obed-Edom.
From the above verses, David showed his weakness as a man. As God may have it, Obed-Edom who was considered the most poorest person among them. They decided to abandon the ark of God which they regarded as a killer in his house so that he will be killed but instead, God bless him.
I want encourage us that we should not allow fear of what happened to someone to Rob us of our blessings. David would have been the one to take that blessing but anger and fear Rob him.
Verses 12-15: After three months, David learns that Obed-Edom has been blessed, leading him to bring the Ark to Jerusalem with great joy.
Verses 16-23: Michal criticizes David for dancing before the Lord, and David responds with humility, emphasizing his desire to worship God above all.
The following lessons are also 🗝️ in second Samuel chapter 6.
The importance of approaching God with reverence and joy. While David's enthusiasm was commendable, we must also heed God's holiness and commandments. As we celebrate our faith, we should remember that true worship is about our heart's posture toward God. Don't allow anyone or anything rob you of God's Blessings.
