I like all kids of wildflowers and weeds that bloom around. They are pretty and humble and are very much unappreciated. Many of them are as nice, or even nicer than the fancy ones sold in shops.

But this...
This is another level. This is just royal elegance in my book. And yes, I like it too :)

This is Miss Magnolia and it has been growing in our garden for many, many years. Not without setbacks when it didn't like the weather or cold or was disturbed too much. But it is growing, and every year it is getting bigger.

The flowers appear in spring before the tree grows the leaves. So for a few weeks, its just those giant, tulip like flowers in the most adorable blush pink colour and nothing else. Only after the flowers slowly start to fade do the leaves start to show up.

I remember when the tree was tiny and had only a couple of flowers. It was such an excitement to see them open. Even just a few. Now there are hundreds of them and you can see how packed they are.

I managed to catch some nice bokeh too. The Sigma lens I was using is pretty good at it and the trees behind helped a lot with catching the bubbles.
