GM @surfhive !!! Saudações Marujos! Today will share with you my experience in the last 60 days.

The São Francisco River, popularly known as Velho Chico, is one of the most important water courses in Brazil and South America. Its indigenous name is Opará or Parapitinga.

The river passes through five states and 521 municipalities, with its geographic source in the municipality of Medeiros and its historical source in Serra da Canastra, in the municipality of São Roque de Minas, in the center-west of Minas Gerais. It is a very important river in Brazil in terms of biome, fauna, flora, water and natural resources, with a lot of history involved. June 3rd is the National Day in Defense of the São Francisco River. And at the moment several companies are installed on the river bank... and I went to monitor the river data as well.

My mission in Opara consisted of a scientific study to demarcate navigation on the river... this measurement was from beginning to end. A long adventure.

The climate was arid, dry, it didn't rain, a typical ecosystem of the Bahian hinterland, but still a lot of nature and life present there.

Jabuti, Turtle Hideen, where?

I confess that it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.. I've already seen part of Asia that I consider wild and incredible... but the São Francisco river has a unique energy, these huge sand dunes on a wide river bank with lots of marine life will be marked in my memory

Our routine consisted of waking up at 5 am, packing up the boat, having breakfast at 6:30 am and starting work towards the determined drilling area.

I made the demarcation until 13 pm, most of the time I had lunch on the boat. In the afternoon, I did this job again, arriving on the boat around 5 pm. Already doing the planning meeting for the next day.

I routed crosses the states of Minas Gerais and Bahia, determines the border between Bahia and Pernambuco to the north and constitutes the natural division between the states of Sergipe and Alagoas, finally ending up in the Atlantic Ocean.

Its length measured from the historic source is 2,814 kilometers, but reaches 2,863 kilometers when measured from the geographic source. Its watershed has an area of approximately 641,000 square kilometers.

The São Francisco River is also largely responsible for the prosperity of its riverside areas comprised by the name of Vale do São Francisco, where cities experienced greater growth and progress such as Petrolina, Pernambuco, Juazeiro in Bahia due to irrigated agriculture.

This region is currently the largest producer of tropical fruits in the country, also receiving special attention to wine production, in one of the few regions in the world that obtain two annual harvests of grapes.

Local Base of Work at Passagem, Bahia

The cities around the river, the people I met, the animals and visuals I managed to see on this adventure were totally surprising to me. Rivers are the main source of drinking water for human populations. But rivers, along with wetlands, are also fundamental for fauna, it is in them that they find food, shelter... and I am very grateful to have had this experience. I would also like to thank the guys who do this amazing work at @surfhive and @surflimpo , @joaoparmagnani, @luizhadad and of course @crisciacm for make my onboard in #hive.

I hope you liked the Post, with affection. OAK3.
