As the systems of the world descend into tight chaos and hysteria, I've been grounding, aligning and nourishing myself with nature's abundance
My partner and I, recently finding a way back to each other following some miraculous transformations, have been taking more time than usual in the mountains together.
The abundance of natural harvests right now is incredible - if you know how to read the landscape.... and how to take enough-but-not-too-much, whilst revering the sacredness of what we are experiencing, witnessing, being given.
We were discussing the nature of GIFT - nature's gifts, and the importance of taking what we need, and gifting it forwards to others.
If we were thinking conventionally, and aligned with fear and consumption, we might've taken more than we could even process and eat ourselves - and that might well have led to waste... Or to an imbalance of nature and us.
Over the years as a wild forager, I've learned to be careful with whom I share my wisdom, as e.g. 'city folk' might come and 'hoover up' a crop of the best chanterelles, not thinking about a) others' needing to also eat and enjoy, or b) the crop continuing in the future!
It's beautiful to learn the give-and-take of Gift economy, Gift culture, the Spirit of Gift.
Divine balance means finding an equilibrium, an effortless flow of in-out, between us and the world. We cannot truly Live In Gift, if we have no mastery of the generosity of all things - and our place in between all things.
Much love,Clare
