I don't consider myself a big sports enthusiast but I do have two strong ties.
- San Diego Padres - Baseball
- BYU - Football and Basketball
FUN SEEING PEOPLE SUCCEED AT SOMETHING DIFFICULT
It has been so fun to watch both BYU football and Padres Baseball do so well this year. It made me happy to see them do so well. There is something about cheering on a group of people as they do something hard AND THEN seeing them succeed in their goals. "Go my favorite sports team"
Specially baseball because it's been SOOOO LONG since the padres were any good.
Sports aren't for everyone and they CAN bring out a negative side to many... but when approached in a positive perspective and a moderate amount they can actually be very uplifting. In general it's a good thing to cheer on someone when they do well... whether that's your friends or some other connection you feel close to. I grew up going to baseball with my Mom and I went to BYU so I have a connection in both those places.
THANKFUL FOR DISTRACTIONS WHILE EDITING
I was thankful many times for the ability to watch Padres Baseball even on their short season. I was off in the middle of nowhere much of september and october but still had enough reception to watch the games and baseball is perhaps the best thing to watch while editing pictures because a lot of the times I can just listen while editing and then look down from time to time to see particular plays.
THANKFUL GOOD PUBLIC EXAMPLES
Yesterday i thought of writing this #GiveThanks post because after watching this interview I wasn't just thankful for my teams I was thankful for this great example and poise that the coach of BYU showed when most people expected him to be mad or feel disrespected ... when everyone else was shocked for BYU he came on with a great perspective on the matter
I was decently bugged by the rankings that came out yesterday and the bad placement of BYU but seeing this perspective was helpful.
