Diaries of a Fluffy Rican: My car's been a blessing

The first I spotted a Scion xB, I thought the car was hideous. "Who would ever want to buy one of those things", I thought to myself. Years went by, and I never really gave the car much thought.

My previous car had lived a long and fruitful life. However, by the time it was given to me. The long life was clearly evident, in it's outside appearance.

It was such an eye sore, that when people got mad at me. The first thing they did was insult the car. Which honestly I thought was funny. Not being able to say anything about me, they addressed their anger at my poor beater. I began to worry about the poor beater, what if it developed a complex or something.

Well the day finally came, when just under 300,000 miles. My little reliable beater was bringing me to work, and it's engine died. I sold it's remains to the local auto salvage, and began to search for a another vehicle.

Though my tendency was too be frugal, and search for a cheap car. I decided that I had earned the right to drive a decent car. At the time my job involved delivering, so it needed to get good gas mileage. I also needed to consider my girlfriend at the time, and her two children. So the search began.

Not sure why, but as soon as I saw the ad. I got a feeling that this was the car I was looking for. Getting a small loan from my job, I drove to New Hampshire to see it. The price was decent, though the seller ended up being a little bit shady. There were a few hidden problems that needed to be resolved, yet overall it has been a blessing.

It's been about seventy thousand miles later, and my little car is still running strong. In fact I think it likes Colorado almost as much as I do. It looks good with the mountains behind it, and I'm blessed to have it.

I guess it's silly to write a blog, taking about a car bought almost two years ago. Yet it's been a blessing to me. It allowed me to earn as living driving about a hundred miles daily. I've been able to use it to bless others through rides, and other favors.

My little carrito has taken me everywhere I've needed to go, including a three day ride to Colorado. I'm using the word carrito somewhat improperly. I guess it's my own slightly slang way of using the word.

I looked up the Spanish to English translation, and it listed several ways it could be used. None of them being an actual car, but more properly used it's a cart.

Though my favorite example listed was a toy car. Which I think fits my carrito perfectly. It's a smaller car, but it's been a big blessing.
