It has felt so good to get my hands into soil once again. To add manure, which inturn will enrich the soil. To improve the beds, so that the irrigation system will work effectively
and to increase the growing surface. For now we have added potatoes, buried them into the soil, where they can be nourished and nurtured in the darkness, until they send out their shoots, signalling their growth.
All seeds need the darkness, so that they can focus their energy on growth. In the warmth of the earth, where conditions are stable and their needs are met by the soil, this is where they will flourish. Held and nurtured, until they move into the next stage, where they need the light.
I live a life that is connected to nature, one that is guided by the changing seasons. With nature, being one of my greatest teachers. I understand the need for me to go into the depths of my own darkness, so that I can fully embrace the light and be transformed.
We all have those dark moments in life, where we find ourselves questioning everything in our existence, doubting our ability to thrive. Yes we can survive, but in life we really need to thrive, to break above the surface and shine our light.
But in order to reach those heights, we need to face the dark. Where we feel shook to our core, exhausted and defeated. But that forces us, to slow down, to turn our sight inwards, so we can begin to understand and feel our own power. The sheer force of how we feel, there in lies our power. Our ability to feel, so that we can turn our thoughts around and transform.
A time where the waters of our life, were meerky, calling on us to slow down. Forcing us to, so that we can heal.
It's so important to listen to our bodies, just as we observe our gardens, so we can learn how best to tend to them. Creating the perfect environment, in which everything we plant will grow. Honouring each part of the growing cycle, of the life cycle.
Recognising the importance of embracing it all. The light and dark, the good and the bad. It really is, all a part of the whole and what makes me whole. So that we can thrive in life, like the plants in our gardens, in our homes. Just like the beautiful lotus flower, that reaches up from the meerky depths, in all of its splendour.
This is my response to the latest Creative Garden challenge, from the wonderful Hive Garden community.
Like a lotus flower, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate into the world.
