YARRRRGHH!!

For years, Play2Earn games were games in name only. Pirate Nations is a sure sign that the scene has matured past that and a reminder that we deserve better from cryptocurrency based games. I've been involve4d with this game for just over a week now and the progress they have made in that time is very impressive. We have a lot to cover here so lets get right to it.

Referral System Changes

image.png

Over the past few days Pirate Nations made a major change to how their referral system works. At the moment players are only granted referral slots to invite new players into the game at level 5. This is a change from before where you would get a single invite at level 1 and unlocked 5 more at level 5. I'm not going to dig into why the devs might make this decision but, in the short term, it should continue to limit any ref code spamming. This is a positive for everyone.

Getting Started

In my last article about Pirate Nations I gave a general overview about how the game started and what it's promises are. This one is straight to the point: What do you need to establish a good foundation in Pirate Nations.

First goal: Spend all your energy and Bounty slots.

As this game is so fresh and new there is no need to over strategize. Our goals at the moment should be to do all we can to acquire gold, experience, game knowledge, and the items we need to move forward. Thankfully, all of this can be acquired through quests and bounties.

The first quest you'll notice here is "Crack that Crate". This will be your bread and butter right off the bat. You can use this quest to spend large portions of energy in one click to open the crates you earn winning Gauntlet battles. This means that, at level 1, you can do everything you need to do for a day in Pirate Nations in about five clicks. Not bad!

As you level you'll unlock new quests with unique requirements, rewards, and timelines. These quests are NOT all crated equal and I'd advise you to look them over closely. For now, we'll be spending each day making sure we can spend some time training with 'Might Be Murdock'.

Take a look at the energy/exp ratio. The goal here is to crack the crates needed to craft the items needed to train. This will level you as quickly as possible.

Mistakes to Avoid: Trading License

One of the main reasons I write these articles is so my readers can avoid the mistakes I made. The one and only major mistake I made getting established in Pirate Nations was purchasing a trading license.

image.png

Long story short: The trading license is a rare item bestowed upon founder pirates to get the marketplace up and running. In order to use the marketplace to sell you are going to need a trading license OR to hit level 10. Not knowing how long hitting level 10 would take and, with it clear I really enjoy this game, I purchased and used the license. Thats right, it's a single use item so I cant now sell it.

Now, less than a week later, I find myself level 10 and it's clear I wasted $125 (the price I paid for my license, they are currently more expensive). Essentially, I flushed these funds and, now that I'm level 10, have nothing to show for it. I'm not all that salty but want to do what I can no one else makes this mistake.

Level 10 is not a marathon, it's a sprint, you'll get there. Spend your money on ships!.

A Wide Open Horizon

With Pirate Nation growing so quickly and with updates coming out multiple times a week it's clear this project has a devoted and talent team who have the chops to pull a project like this off. I both want to explore everything this game has on offer and, to eventually be paid for my investment of time and attention. As this project has so many green flags waving I am happy to keep investing hours and dollars here.

I hope you'll follow along with us on this journey!
