Mass Effect 2 has always been my favourite of the Mass Effect trilogy -- the combat is improved, the voice acting is so much better, and Shepard's transformation from pure military into their own person is fantastic. The Story-driven RPG elements are still there also, whereas in #3 I feel they dumbed that down a lot for the shoot-em-up crowd who aren't interested in story.
Anyway.
I was looking forward to playing it in this new Legendary Edition, but now I'm actually finding myself struggling to complete it. That's not to say that it's bad -- it's one of my favourite games! -- but maybe I'm just not in the mood for it now? After over a year of desperately wanting to play it again. 😅
As for the Legendary Edition itself - the updates in #2 are barely noticeable. Apart from a highly publicised camera angle involving Miranda's butt and a few sharper textures here and there, I don't think anything else was really done in the game compared to the first in the series.
I did, however, find the game darker than it originally was, to the extent I've had to turn the brightness up to a whopping +8!
I'm only at about the 60% mark at the moment, but I thought it was a good time for a Screenshot Showcase for what I've done so far. Photomode-wise I've really been enjoying the artistic effect that explosions leave. I hope you like them!
