- Hello! I'm Hell I test Outriders again at a much more advanced stage that allows us to see the full potential that the new People Can Fly work can offer us!!!
Last year Square Enix introduced us to Outriders, a complete action game with role-playing elements that is being developed by People Can Fly, creators of Gears of War: Judgment and BULLETSTORM with the support of Square Enix External Studios, those responsible for Sleeping Dogs and Just Cause.
Like I have already told you about this title beforehand and this time we have been able to sink our teeth into it again in a new game session in which we have been able to test the fourth available class, the technomancer, in addition to being able to play a lot in a part more advanced game, with our character at level 30, discovering all the potential that this new video game can offer us.
- Technomancer, a very useful and tremendously fun character class.
As soon as we entered the game, the first thing we did was take a few minutes to inspect this new class, the technomancer, who had a good handful of very interesting abilities, being a character clearly oriented to the functions of doing damage but also he has some very cool abilities as a support, being, in fact, the character with the best healing abilities in the game.
Something that caught our attention is that if a necromancer in a fantasy world invokes the undead to fight by his side, what this technomancer does is deploy machines and weapons to support us and fight alongside us, a good part being of their skills focused on being able to place different types of turrets on the battlefield so that they harm our enemies in different ways.
Other skills that caught our interest and that we decided to use right away is the grenade that allowed us to freeze our enemies (and that we already mentioned earlier) that was tremendously useful, another was the possibility of launching a volley of missiles on our rivals, as well as an ability that allowed the technomancer to recover life and that we found very useful at least on this first occasion when he wrote to you, he faced the game and in which I had to get used to different combat mechanics.
The Technomancer can attack from the second line and deploy weapons such as turrets or rocket launchers to help him take out his enemies.
In addition to the different abilities or powers that this class can use, we were also able to take a look at its level progression with a point system that allows us to choose between three different specializations (Pestilence, Shaman or Demolisher) achieving different bonuses such as increasing our life, the damage of our weapons or our "anomalous power" to use our abilities.
Overall, we had a great time in this game session with the technomancer. Obviously you need to play a lot more to get a full impression of the class but, at least for now, we thought that it will be very particular and very fun to control and satisfactory for all players who know how to get their full potential.
- A real battlefield.
Beyond testing the technomancer, as we say on this occasion we were able to play in a much more advanced phase of Outriders that allowed us to see how far this People Can Fly title can go, which has offered us throughout the test a great feeling of being in a whole war conflict.
In our game, we had to join up with two other players and face large hordes of enemies who were trying to end our lives, it being crucial to collaborate with each other and use our character's skills wisely if we wanted to get out of the battlefield alive. To do this, maintaining coverage and advancing carefully is crucial and precisely that coverage system reminded us, in its own way, of Gears of War (for something they developed Judgment) and we believe that fans of this saga are going to feel immediately quite comfortable both with this system and with everything that has to do with shooting in Outriders.
- One of the details that we liked the most about Outriders is the ability it has to immerse ourselves in a real battlefield.
Another element that caught our attention is the immersion that the game offers us to move us to that virtual battlefield, with constant action, explosions, shots, pieces of shrapnel appearing everywhere and a pure, direct and frantic action that had us at all times focused on the game itself, leaving a good taste in our mouths.
For the rest, we find powerful enemies, a fairly successful AI, some confrontations with final bosses, rewards in the form of a team to improve our character, different missions to overcome and everything that we can expect in an action game with touches role-playing of this style.
- The technomancer is going to be one of the funniest classes.
To end these impressions, from what we have been able to test of the technomancer we believe that it will be one of the most fun classes to handle in Outriders both for its usefulness on the battlefield and for its different abilities that allow us to destroy the enemy with a shower of missiles or make them suffer with our turrets while we open fire from afar.
In addition, in this more advanced phase it has shown us to be a frantic game, full of action and that takes us very effectively to the battlefield, with shots, explosions and all kinds of effects that make us feel inside everything a war conflict. Remember that Outriders will be released this year for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
