A used Playstation 1 with no memory card was my childhood

Hi guys, so these are the games that I used to enjoy during my childhood and I have so much good memories of playing these games.

Even though it is the late 90s since I had access only to old PCs and old gaming consoles you might realise that the games I enjoyed were way past their prime time.

1) Mid Town Madness (PC - 1991)

This game was the first open world game that I ever played. Sure the only thing we could do was drive around, but the fact that I could drive any where and explore every corner of the game map really gave freedom to the player that I never felt before.

2) Grand Prix 4 (PC - 2004)

I used to really follow F1, so this is a no brainer that I loved this game to my core. There was no multiplayer so this game had an option called hot seat where every 5 minutes the game switches to another car that your friend can drive and your original car goes to auto drive. We used to spend a lot of our weekends together on this one. In my memory the graphics were top notch when I used to play it.

3) Star Ocean: Second story (PS1- 1998)

My cousin got a hand of the PS 1 and also got a few games with it. The one game I really loved was Star Ocean. It had an open world type of gameplay, we had to fight off demons as we went through the forests. The storyline was really great. Believe it or not we did not have a memory card with the PS 1 as we had a used console. So eventually we got bored going through the initial gameplay. Honestly I emulated it recently on my PC but never could gather the time to play this masterpiece.

4) Gran Turismo 2 (PS1 - 1999)

The game that got me hooked into sim racing. Today in my home I have a Thrustmaster T300 steering wheel inspired by this game. It really got me head first into the sim racing World and I loved it. Earning all those licenses and points to buy the dream car. The game makers really knew how to make the players enjoy and stick with the gameplay for a long long time. In case you are wondering, nowadays I play Assetto Corsa to fulfil my racing hunger.

5) Resident Evil (PS1-1996)

Although I used to hate watching horror movies, playing Resident evil in the night with lights out with my friend or cousin was the number one thrilling thing we used to enjoy on sleepovers. The puzzles, the scares, the mystery this game had everything right to make the player shiver and also to make us think our brains out. It also made me a fan of the series and I recently plan to buy RE Village soon for my PS5.
