Después de un tiempo decidiéndome entre si seguir publicando o no estuve jugando algunos juegos en estas pequeñas vacaciones que tengo de mi trabajo, no hay demasiados títulos a los que quiera jugar ya que no soy demasiado aficionada a los videojuegos pero cayó en mis manos uno de los más recientes juegos de los creadores del LOL, un shooter llamado Valorant que desde hace algunos años está queriendo ganar terreno en este género y aunque no sé si lo ha logrado la verdad es que me interesaba jugarlo desde hace algún tiempo porque pensaba que tenía muchas similitudes con otros juegos como Overwatch, que equivocada estaba en ese entonces porque cuando entre al juego resulto ser muy diferente a lo que pensaba, su acción es espectacular y sus tiroteos intensos además de tener una amplia base de seguidores detrás después de tener uno de los dramas más sonados del año pasado con noticias falsas y comunicados confusos de por medio, casi todo lo negativo fuera del juego se ha disipado lo suficiente para jugarlo y forjarse una opinión objetiva.

El juego ha tenido muchas opiniones divididas desde que Riot Games lo saco al mercado como parte de una nueva apuesta para dominar el terreno shooter que otros juegos como Fortnite o Apex estaban conquistando, sobra decir que en su primer año tuvo un montón de problemas tanto con bugs del juego como con la forma en la que la compañía quería rentabilizarlo mediante un sistema de Free To Play, un modelo de negocios que es popular en los videojuegos de móviles y también es infame por ofrecer una experiencia reducida y en donde el dinero gobierna tanto las probabilidades de ganar como la experiencia en si misma. Riot Games no la ha tenido fácil en los últimos meses innovando en su juego a una nueva etapa, sigue utilizando el formato de temporadas para ofrecer actualizaciones de contenido pero la mayoría de las opciones de pago han desaparecido para bien, Valorant es ahora una versión bastante más pulida que juegos como Overwatch o Fortnite.

Pero de que va Valorant se estarán preguntando, como ya dije es un shooter y uno que pretende hacer competencia a los títulos mejores establecidos del genero pero debo decir que no es que tenga una personalidad tan definida, sino que su competencia no está con los mega títulos sino con shooters mas tácticos en los que se ven equipo de 7 v 7 en diferentes roles y en los que un equipo debe atacar o destruir algunas zonas del contrario mientras el otro defiende, es el típico escenario de algunos de los juegos de disparos más icónicos como Counter Strike pero llevado a un nuevo nivel, con un apartado que combina unos muy buenos diseños con unos requerimientos mínimos, que no se asemejan en nada a otros títulos modernos pero que abre la puerta a que jugadores con máquinas menos potentes han podido ingresar al juego y formado una comunidad bastante sólida a lo largo del año que tiene de lanzado el juego.

El objetivo de cada nueva partida que se inicia es bastante simple, hay dos equipos que atacan y defienden y en los que un equipo deberá plantar una bomba y defenderla hasta que explote mientras que el otro equipo deberá por todos los medios eliminar a los “terroristas” o desactivar la bomba, este modo de juego le da unos aires inseparables a lo que es el título de CS GO que también tiene una faceta de E Sports en la que las partidas pueden durar bastante tiempo en donde se juegan varias rondas y el que gane una mayoría gana el match.

También hago un paréntesis para hablar sobre las habilidades de cada personaje, que aunque no demuestran demasiada variedad sirven para complementar mucho de los tiroteos que tiene el juego, hay 3 tipos de habilidades que nos pueden ayudar o perjudicar en combate (ya que cada una tiene un revés al que estaremos expuesto mientras somos principiantes) pero ayuda a mejorar mucho una experiencia que nunca se desmarca de ser un título de disparos, aunque tenga habilidades está claro que Riot Games quiere que cada partida sea resuelta con las habilidades de los jugadores con las armas y no con los complementarios del juego, quizá por esto es que el juego tiene un amplio set de armas, así como mapas y municiones en básicamente todas partes, el juego es un festival que también tiene la particularidad de ser uno de los shooters competitivos más exigentes si nos enfocamos en la faceta profesional.

Debo decir que jamás he experimentado algún tipo de fallo desde que instale el juego por segunda vez este año, Riot ha hecho un trabajo estupendo asegurando que cada sala tuviese su propio servidor estable en donde los bajones de FPS son mínimos y el lag es virtualmente imposible siempre y cuando contemos con una conexión estable, la verdad es uno de los títulos más accesibles que puede tener el videojuego hoy en día en el género y es por eso que es uno de los títulos que más juego aunque sea para que Raze acabe volándome en pedazos.

After a while deciding between whether to continue posting or not I was playing some games in this little vacation I have from my job, there are not too many titles I want to play since I'm not too fond of video games but fell into my hands one of the most recent games from the creators of LOL, a shooter called Valorant that for some years is wanting to gain ground in this genre and although I do not know if it has succeeded the truth is that I was interested in playing it for some time because I thought it had many similarities with other games like Overwatch, how wrong I was back then because when I entered the game it turned out to be very different from what I thought, its action is spectacular and its intense shootouts besides having a broad base of followers behind after having one of the most talked about dramas of last year with fake news and confusing communications in between, almost everything negative outside the game has dissipated enough to play it and forge an objective opinion.

The game has had many divided opinions since Riot Games released it as part of a new bid to dominate the shooter terrain that other games like Fortnite or Apex were conquering, needless to say that in its first year it had a lot of problems both with bugs in the game and with the way the company wanted to monetize it through a Free To Play system, a business model that is popular in mobile video games and is also infamous for offering a reduced experience and where money governs both the odds of winning and the experience itself. Riot Games hasn't had it easy in recent months innovating their game to a new stage, it still uses the seasonal format to offer content updates but most of the paid options are gone for good, Valorant is now a rather more polished version than games like Overwatch or Fortnite.

But what is Valorant about you may be wondering, as I said it is a shooter and one that aims to make competition to the best established titles of the genre but I must say that it is not that it has such a defined personality, but its competition is not with the mega titles but with more tactical shooters in which you see 7 v 7 team in different roles and in which one team must attack or destroy some areas of the opponent while the other defends, It is the typical scenario of some of the most iconic shooter games like Counter Strike but taken to a new level, with a section that combines some very good designs with minimum requirements, which are nothing like other modern titles but that opens the door to players with less powerful machines have been able to enter the game and formed a fairly solid community throughout the year that has been released the game.

I also make a parenthesis to talk about the skills of each character, although they do not show too much variety they serve to complement much of the shootouts that the game has, there are 3 types of skills that can help or hurt us in combat (as each has a setback to which we will be exposed while we are beginners) but it helps to greatly enhance an experience that never stands out from being a shooting title, although it has skills it is clear that Riot Games wants each game to be solved with the skills of the players with the weapons and not with the complementary of the game, perhaps this is why the game has a wide set of weapons, as well as maps and ammunition basically everywhere, the game is a festival that also has the particularity of being one of the most demanding competitive shooters if we focus on the professional facet.

I must say that I have never experienced any kind of failure since I installed the game for the second time this year, Riot has done a great job ensuring that each room had its own stable server where FPS drops are minimal and lag is virtually impossible as long as we have a stable connection, the truth is one of the most accessible titles that can have the video game today in the genre and that is why it is one of the titles that I play most even if it is so that Raze ends up blowing me to pieces.
