This week's theme of the Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 22- "70s Music" brought back so many memories. I thought I would have missed this week because I was a bit under the weather which affected my voice a bit, but I'm glad I didn't delete this video afterwards and got it published quite late, makes me feel my efforts were not a waste.
"Love Is Like A Butterfly" wasn't what I initially wanted to perform while searching for songs released in the 70s, but one from ABBA, because while growing up, ABBA's songs were what we played on Saturdays while doing house chores and my mum preparing breakfast. I remember how my dad brought out his piano and would ask us to select the songs we wanted him to play from Abba's tracks, we sang, played, did our chores and had breakfast, it was so beautiful.
Okay, enough of that story. I finally found out Dolly Parton had 70s songs and I knew a few of which "Love Is Like A Butterfly" was once on my playlist and it reminded me of how my mum sang it when I was younger (she loved singing the song) and I would tease her by asking her to sing it to my Dad and she would smile and say she sings to him.
I love this song and it is a song that expresses the tingly, soft, melting feeling anyone feels when in love with a special one, I don't believe you can have this same feeling with two people in your life at the same time, I don't know how possible it is. Although some people say it's possible, I doubt it.
Some people feel that the butterfly feeling of love is only experienced at the beginning of a relationship and then things change after some months or a year. I guess you must have heard that too. But do you know or realize that once you have this negative feeling about love, it will play out in your relationship? Yeah, because whatever your mind thinks is what plays out.
Where am I driving to?
Love is a special thing, the greatest gift from God to humanity, I would have dived deep into it spiritually but that would be different from the meaning of the kind of love this song portrays.
When you meet someone special and fall in love with the person, you always feel the joy and excitement of having the person around. You feel comfortable and free to express your vulnerability which is understood.
Do you know that love adds a special touch of glow to your beauty? Oh yes, it does when you feel happy from within, it is noticeable in your appearance especially the glow on your face. Don't let that glow diminish, don't put out the fire in your relationship. If you are in a long-distance relationship, you can still make it work, daily communication helps a lot and if you can, a surprise visit will be perfect 👌.
Love is special and you can keep experiencing the joy and excitement with that special one each day of your life, always look forward to a better tomorrow in your relationship and marriage. It is possible if only you believe and work towards it.
My appreciation goes to the Vibes team for bringing this wonderful theme this week, it got me reminiscing on good old memories and now I think I have to ask my Dad what he plans to do with his piano, haha, I need to get my hands playing with some keys. Also, thanks for always making it possible to have a new week to exercise our musical talent in this beautiful music community.
