Ten HSBI and Two DUO Tokens Giveaway Week 33!

Sunday always seems to roll up on me so fast every week. That means once again it's time for the weekly giveaway of some HSBI and some DUO tokens. It's hard to believe that we're already on week 33 in this initiative, and everyone seems to be enjoying it, so I'll keep going as long as you all like it.

Last week's entry question was: What is the very first video game you ever played? I got all sorts of responses and of course many date the people with the era of technology they grew up with. This week we had one clear winner that was the most played first video game, and it's no surprise, Super Mario Brother!

Super Mario Brothers

ksestamp.weebly.com

This classic game has become a staple that connects generations of video game aficionados. Originally released in 1983 as an arcade game Nintendo converted it for their NES in 1985. Here Mario takes on Donkey Kong and also battles all of his minions along the way. I played this game all the time once I had a Nintendo system in the late 80's . What a fun game! This was the overall winner with nine people reporting it as their first game. Thanks to @shiftrox , @ronnie10 , @henruc , @logen9f , @ekavieka , @kungfukid , @soyernesto , @wildlifelover and @yusmelys

Pong

youtube.com

This was the number two pick overall played by all of us old timers! It was a simple game but a lot of fun and the start of the video game era. Two lines act like a racquet, and a ball to bounce back and forth. I'm pretty sure this was the first game I ever played, though I have to admit my memory isn't what it once was. But we all have this game to thank for everything that followed, it started the video game revolution!

This was picked by @lanzjoseg , @gwajnberg , and @coolmidwestguy . Us old timers need to stick together!

Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic first appeared in the early 1990's at which point I was living in South America so I missed this game entirely until I returned to the US in the 2000's. It is a tough game to play and I kept losing all of my rings. I guess by that point I had lost all of my keen Mario reflexes, but it was a lot of fun. Great pick by @olaf.gui !

Galaga

8-bitcentral.com

This was a tough call, I had a pick for Galaga and one for Space Invaders. Though somewhat similar I ultimately went with Galaga only because it was near impossible to find an image of the original Space Invaders. Both were incredible games, and you even see updated versions today in arcades. These were very early games, but a huge step forward from Pong! Thanks for this choice @lolodens and for Space Invaders @dewabrata !

Pac-Man

todayifoundout.com

Last up in today's feature will be the timeless Pac-Man. It's kind of like the Rubik's Cube of video games. Pac-Man was being pursued by four ghosts who were slightly slower and could be eaten if Pac-Man ate a power pellet. This was a fun game, I played it for hours! It also was a huge jump in the evolution of video games. Thanks for this pick @tengolotodo.leo ! and also he did pick Pong, so double credit!

Next honorable mentions I couldn't include or the post would take days to read. Pokemon by @sylmarill , a true classic that I never played until my son came along and I fell in love with it too! On Atari @whywhy picked River Raid and @cositav remember playing a racing game on there too. And last is @mcoinz79 with Duck Hunt on Nintendo. I never got a chance to play this much because my dad didn't like hunting much. Ironically in real life I've won many skeet shooting championships!

Thank you to all of my participants this week!

This weeks entry question

Since Halloween is coming up, who or what is your favorite ghoul or monster?

The Giveaway

I will be giving out two prizes of five (5) HSBI. Third prize will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. There will also be one legendary Splinterlands card as a fourth prize. If you don't play Splinterlands just let me know and I'll send you an HSBI instead. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

If you have more questions about DUO feel free to ask, it's growth is exceeding all of our expectations!

Legendary Splinterlands card up for grabs this next week:

A level 1 Void Dragon, this one is a great card!

How to Enter

Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question is an easy one:
Since Halloween is coming up, who or what is your favorite ghoul or monster?

HSBI

If you are unfamiliar with the prize you can learn more here:

Choosing the Winners

All valid entries will be placed on the Wheel of Names and I will spin it four times. The first prize will be 5 HSBI units. The second prize will be another 5 HSBI units. And the third prize will be two DUO tokens. Fourth prize is a legendary Splinterlands card or one HSBI unit! And since I am spinning the same wheel four times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all four prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?
