YOU CAN DO MUCH MORE

BIBLE TEXTS:

Mark 4:35-41

KEY VERSE:

...They feared exceedingly, and said one to another, what manner of man is this that even the wind and the sea obey him? (Mark 4:35-41, KJV)

CONTROLLING THOUGHT:

God's agenda to prepare and equip humans to replicate His wondrous acts, even to do the impossible, didn't end with those early disciples.

THE MESSAGE:

Today's key verse captured the expression of the disciples after the Lord had quieted the storm that threatened to drown the ship they were in. It was an expression of exceeding wonder! Yet, that which they wondered at was actually what the Lord was preparing them to do, and much more. He was preparing them to do those things that are naturally beyond their abilities, even those things thought impossible! And the good news is that they that did follow Him were
eventually made to do such things, even much more. The Bible attests how Some of them made even death to obey them. Yes, they did get to do the impossible. However, that was only possible because they followed, learned, and were made ready for such by the Lord.

It's important to note that the Lord's agenda of preparing and equipping humans to replicate His wondrous acts, even to do the impossible, didn't end with those early disciples. As the Bible says, "...There is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him" (Romans 10:12, KJV, emphasis added). In other words, the "yardstick" is still the same; the Lord sees us with the same eye. If only we would yield ourselves the way those early disciples did, if only we would allow Him to make us, He firmly promised that we will do much more (John 14:12).

Unfortunately, many people are so much in a hurry that they fail to wait through the necessary processes that will see them "made." Many have so misconstrued and distoted the whole concept of following the Lord that it has become terribly challenging for them to keep looking unto the Author and Finisher of their faith (Heb 12:1-2), let alone yield themselves to be made. While some others have developed for themselves an agenda that is completely different from what the Master had ordained and clearly spelt out in the Word of God. And, by so doing, they sadly removed themselves from that divine agenda.

If only you can yield yourself to Him to be made, you'll certainly do much more than those things you wonder at, even those stupendous miracles you read about in the Bible. The Lord is ever ready to make you to be and to do much more than you could ever imagine. Get busy with Him, deliberately; you can do so much more.

CALL TO SURRENDER:

If you would like to surrender your life and will to Jesus, say this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I come to You a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept You my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank you for saving me, in Jesus' name. Amen.
