Smile. You're Beautiful [Sunday Reflections]

Taking Bila Street on our way home some time ago was a good decision for we got a delightful vibe right after we reached the curve. Thanks to this cute mural which made us smile, grin, and laugh too as we drove past it.

"Can you go back for a moment? I would like to ..." I noticed the car moving backward even before I finished what I was going to say. The Farmboy read what was on my mind. Brilliant!

Smile, You're Beautiful.

Simple words (phrase) yet impactful. Add a happy emoticon plus a colorful, cheerful-looking caterpillar - oh my, it's an effective, effortless antidote to a sad face.😅 I think everyone who sees it gets infected with a positive vibe.

Although... from personal experience, it is not easy to let out a smile when we are weary, tired, or hurting. It's quite difficult to hide when we are in a bad mood. But sometimes, unexpected things come along and uplift our souls effortlessly. The artwork on that waiting shed was one, at least for us. It made us mirthful despite our exhaustion and lack of sleep from the coming and going during the week for our aunt's wake and funeral.

We were grateful to whoever did it. Perhaps the artist knew his/her work would inspire and encourage others to feel better, to forget even for a brief moment whatever bothers them, and to have a nice curve on their lips or laugh.

Imagine seeing it as you head home after a bad or exhausting day. How would you react? Do you think you would easily notice it, or are you one who tends to get lost in his/her thoughts and won't see a thing around whenever you are not in your best mood? If you are the latter, how soon can you snap out of it?

Smile. Like the weight on your shoulders has just been lifted :)

Anyhow, I like the artwork and the good vibes that it gives. In retrospect, the experience of that particular moment made me realize that we can still be genuinely happy even when our day is not ideal. Little things they may be, but they do make us feel better. I hope it has the same impact on you.

Writing this suddenly reminded me of Nat King Cole's song Smile. And I'm humming as I type, lol!

Smile... though your heart is aching
Smile... even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you.

Speaking of the sky and the sun, the weather here is finally improving and it looks like we are having a bright Monday, yay! Thank heavens and aha, another adventure begins!

Happy new week, frens! Keep smiling 'coz you're beautiful😉
