Friends I already told you that as a youtuber that I am as well as a consumer of youtube videos, I love this community since I discovered it recently, so you will see me very often here. This time I would like to introduce you to a channel that I have been following for about three years, I came to it because of another channel (Nekogita vlogs), but I will tell you about it another time, today I would like to tell you about Ruthy Family Vlogs, a channel with one million two hundred ninety thousand subscribers, in which we can see a daily video of Ruthy's family, a mexican woman married to a japanese man. She has been living in Japan for more than 20 years so we can see the way they carry on a Halfu family (that is, a family with two different cultures) the funny thing is that before I began to consume their content or the content of the channel through which I met this one, I was not attracted at all to Japanese culture, but it was the charisma and the Latin spark that made me not want to miss a single video.
Amigos ya les dije que como youtuber que soy además de consumidora de los videos de youtube, amo esta comunidad desde que la descubrí reciente, así que me verán muy seguido por aquí. En esta ocasión me gustaría darles a conocer un canal que estoy siguiendo desde hace tres años aproximadamente, llegué a él por causa de otro canal (Nekogita vlogs), pero de ese les hablaré en otra ocasión, hoy me gustaría hablarles de Ruthy Family Vlogs, un canal con un millón doscientos noventa mil suscriptores, en el cual podemos ver un video diario de la familia de Ruthy, una mujer mexicana casada con un japonés, vive en Japón desde hace más de 20 años así que podemos ver la forma en que llevan adelante a una familia Halfu (es decir, una familia con dos culturas distintas) lo curioso es que antes de que yo comenzara a consumir su contenido o el contenido del canal por el cual conocí este, a mi no me atraía para nada la cultura japonesa, pero fueron el carisma y la chispa latina los que hicieron que yo ya no quisiera perderme ni un solo video.
On this channel you can also learn a new Japanese word every day, so watching it is not only entertaining but also instructive.
En este canal además puedes aprender una nueva palabra japonesa cada día, así que verlo no solo resulta entretenido sino instructivo.
The best of all is that you can watch it from its beginnings, as she has a playlist with thousands of videos from when her children were young, so it is exciting to see the evolution of the family over the years in all its stages, for example, how difficult it was for her to stop speaking Spanish to her son Riusei because due to this he could not understand the instructions given in Japanese at school, which was causing him some problems. It is also exciting to see when the grandparents come to visit from Mexico, or when the family decides to go to Mexico to see their relatives. Ruthy tells us facts that put us in context of how she has adapted to a new culture, with all the changes that implies, but it is also beautiful to see how she has “Latinized” her environment in a way, making her family recognize, accept and love her other half, which brings me to the next point.
Lo mejor de todo es que puedes verla desde sus inicios, pues tiene una lista de reproducción con miles de videos desde que sus hijos estaban pequeños, así que resulta emocionante ver la evolución de la familia a lo largo de los años en todas sus etapas, por ejemplo, lo difícil que fue para ella dejar de hablarle en español a su hijo Riusei porque debido a esto él no podía entender las instrucciones que le daban en japonés en la escuela, lo cual le estaba acarreando algunos problemas. También es emocionante ver cuando llegan los abuelos de visita desde México, o cuando la familia decide ir a México para ver a sus parientes. Ruthy nos cuenta datos que nos hacen entrar en contexto de como fue su proceso de adaptación a una nueva cultura, con todos los cambios que eso implica, pero también es hermoso ver como ella ha "latinizado" de cierta forma su entono, haciendo que su familia reconozca, acepte y ame su otra mitad, lo cual me lleva al siguiente punto.
This was the first video I saw from this channel, it's about the 15th birthday of Yurica, Ruthy's oldest daughter, and I happened to get there because in the other channel I told you about, they said they were going to that event, and I was curious to know how they would carry out this event that is so important for young Latinas.
Este fue el primer video que vi de este canal, es sobre los 15 años de Yurica, la hija mayor de Ruthy, y casualmente llegué allí porque en el otro canal del que les hablé, decían que irían a ese evento, y a mi me daba curiosidad saber como llevarían a cabo este evento que es tan importante para las jovencitas latinas.
And that was the perfect hook, it was an emotional video to watch, even though I didn't know the family yet, but once you dedicate yourself to watch the previous videos and get more context it is much more exciting to see how a young Japanese girl meets her Latin roots, there in front of her Japanese friends and her mother's Mexican friends she danced the waltz with her dad (a custom that is never done in Japan) her father as well, who is known in the channel as “Mr Faceless” because he cannot show his face because he is not allowed bacause his work, gave an emotional speech in which he talked about the importance of highlighting these customs in the family, that this party was something that was never done in Japan, but that his family was different, it was formed by two cultures that should be carried with equal importance. Wow! it was a video that I really enjoyed from the beginning, to see how the Japanese, usually more frugal, danced to the sound of Latin rhythms was memorable.
Y ese fue el gancho perfecto, fue un video emocionante de ver, aún y cuando yo todavía no conocía a la familia, pero una vez que te dedicas a ver los videos anteriores y adquieres mayor contexto es mucho más emocionante ver como una jovencita japonesa se encuentra con sus raíces latinas, allí frente a sus amigos japoneses y los amigos mexicanos de su madre bailó el vals con su papá (una costumbre que nunca se lleva a cabo en Japón) su padre además, quien es conocido en el canal como "Don sin rostro" ya que no puede mostrar su cara debido a que no se lo permiten en el trabajo, dio un emotivo discurso en el cual habló de la importancia de resaltar esas costumbres en la familia, que esa fiesta era algo que en Japón jamás se hacía, pero que su familia era diferente, estaba formada por dos culturas que debían llevar con igual importancia. Wow! de verdad que fue un video que disfruté desde el inicio, ver como los japoneses, generalmente más parcos, bailaban al son de ritmos latinos fue memorable.
And another thing that I like a lot about Ruthy's way of being, is that she is not selfish at all, on the contrary, she has no qualms to publicize the new projects of her friends, especially when they open their respective youtube channels, in this way I have met other youtubers who over time have become well known, such as Riken of Riken's life and Javo Kun.
Y otra de las cosas que me gusta mucho de la forma de ser de Ruthy, es que ella no es egoísta para nada, al contrario, no tiene ningún reparo en dar a conocer lo nuevos proyectos de sus amigos, sobre todo cuando ellos abren sus respectivos canales de youtube, de esta manera he conocido a otros youtubers que con el tiempo se han hecho muy conocidos, como Riken de Riken's life y Javo Kun.
