Vonak: The Rise Of Rebellion Rare Rewards Pt.1

Introduction

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

In my last post, I have given my analysis on the Common Rebellion Soulbound Rewards and how they could be used in battle along with what summoners and rulesets they would shine. There are some that I find really useful while there are some that I find underwhelming. And so, today I will begin my post with the first part of my analysis to the Rare Rebellion Soulbound Rewards featuring the Fire and Water element that comes with 2 rare cards for each element and how could they be shine in the battle.

Drybone Megaladon was an 8- mana melee unit which comes with the Flank ability at level 1, which can give any melee unit that is next to it the Reach ability. It also gains Retaliate at level 4 that gives it 50% chance to attack any melee unit that attack this card and Thorns at level 10 which inflicts damage to melee unit that attacks this card. This makes it a great card to use on Up Close and Personal ruleset where only melee units can be used then with placing it next to Mantaroth would allow it to attack even when it was on the second position or even with Drybone Raider that can now attack 4 times in a row since it both has melee and range attack along with Double Strike. We can even place it at the back for a Super Sneak ruleset to deal extra damage from its Thorns. When it comes to modern summoner, it would benefit by having its melee attack increased when used together with Tarsa and Lorkus or even with Skargore that will give it the Enrage ability so when it recieves damage, its melee and speed would got a power boost.

The next card, Continuum Seer, was an 4- mana magic unit which at level 1, has the Backfire ability, inflicting damage to opponents when they miss attacking this card and at level 3 gains the Phase ability that allows it to evade magic attack. It has the max speed of 8 which makes it incredibly hard to hit and can have a max of 3 magic damage but it has an incredibly low health of 2 which makes it susceptible to Snipe and Opportunity attacks and could also easily die when the opponent has Magic Reflect. That said, by using Lorkus, it could gain not only an extra boost to its magic damage but also gains the Life Leech ability that allow it to increase its health when it inflicts damage to the opponent or use it with Nomos and gives it the Reflection Shield ability. At the same time, It's lack of health would not matter if it is played on Equalizer Ruleset and will always be an available unit on Little League.

The reveal for Commander Slade comes from @stever82 which is one of the OG Splinterlands player all the way to the Steem era and has continuedly providing great Splinterlands content to the community. Now, going to Commander Slade, this is a melee card with the Enfeeble and Dodge ability at level 1 which reduces the melee attack of the target for each successful hits and increase its evasion chance by 25%. At level 4, it gains Reflection Shield making it immune to indirect and reflected damage while it gains Backfire at level 8 that damages the opponent when they miss attacking this card. It has a max damage of 5 and max speed of 6 with 10 health and 7 armor and it makes it a good tank against melee and range opponents but would find it difficult to survive against a magic focused team or if the opponent has someone with Giant Killer since it has 10 mana. It would be fine using it together with Kelya Frendul giving it +1 speed and armor and it also does not have amy problem working with Possibilus the Wise either as tank or a second position unit with Reach while reducing the melee damage of the opponent with Enfeeble like on the Battle I had bellow as well as preventing damage from units with Blast as it has Reflection Shield. It would also me more difficult to damage once it was used together with Cryptic as it will increase the evasion chance by another 15%.

For the last card of this batch, we have Razorhound which is a 5- mana range unit. It has the Stregnthen ability at level 1 which increases the health of all ally unit by +1 and True Strike at level 4 that makes its attack to never miss the target. At max level, it gains void, which reduces the damage from magic attacks which is kind of wired given that it would be less likely to be placed at the front to tank most magic attacks. As it was a range unit, it would benefit well when it was used together with Prophet Rosa that could give +2 range damage for two units and when it comes to ruleset, it would likely to be used during Close Range where it can attack even at the first position and Going the Distance where only units with range damage can be used in battle.

Final Thoughts

The End of season is coming near which marks the first season that the new Rebellion Soulbound Rewards was released and given that more glint will be rewarded for the end of season loot, many players will be able to purchase more cards on the glint shop, allowing for them to increase the level of their collection. But even as it is now, I'm beginning to see more and more matches that uses rebellion reward cards. So far, it was Commander Slade that I was able to use and helps me to win the battle. Once again I would like to express my gratitude to everyone in the community that helps in sharing the information about the cards.

Thank you and see you at the next post.
