Introduction

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Through the recent months, Splinterlands has been continuously making many changes to the game. Introducing new game mechanics and rulesets, making the game mobile friendly, reducing the exploit by bot farms, adding more quality of life features and many more, some of which was embraced by the community while the others received a mixed reception. But a few days ago, another new feature has been added by the developers which will not only make things easier for the existing players but also for the new players that will come to the game and this was the addition of the 1-Click Rentals Feature.

1-Click Rentals

One of the beauty of Splinterlands as a game is that if a player stops playing or have extra copies of cards they do not use and do not want to liquidate their card assets, they could rent their cards and with that, they can still earn passive income while at the same time, it allows players that do not own those cards to be able to use them to play the game and earn rewards. However, as Splinterlands add new cards to the game, renting cards becomes harder and more time consuming and if they are a new player to the game you can easily get confused on which cards to rent specially if they want to play on modern which only allows the use of Chaos Legion and Rebellion cards. A new player can easily make a mistake and accidentally rent an Untamed or Beta card which can only be used in Wild without being able to use them. But with 1-Click Rentals now being live, players can now rent the card set that they will be using with less hustle. To start renting card sets, we need to go to the Market and choose the Set Rentals tab then choose the card set that we want to rent.

Once a card set has been chosen, players can now see the available rental listings along with the number of available cards on each listing and the price that each listing are placed for rental. The rentals are payable with either DEC or Credits.

By clicking on the View Cards, we can take a look on the cards that were inside the card set in case that we want to make sure that the levels of the card are what we need and that there are no cards that were missing in the set.

Currently, the only available card set to rent was the Chaos Legion set at bronze level which includes the core cards and the non-soulbound reward cards but in future, there will be more sets that will be available. The minimum card levels for the Chaos Legion Starter Set is at bronze and can be changed in the autofill settings.

And just with a few clicks a player can now rent an entire set without wasting time and get confused as to what card to rent. One thing to take note is that Set Rentals are only available as season rentals and cannot be canceled by either party until the season ends.

Final Thoughts

The addition of 1-Click Rentals was a huge quality of life feature that will make overall renting easier and less time consuming, allowing the players to play the game right away. This also makes renting easier for new players that have not yet get accustomed to the game and wants to try to use the cards first before they decide on what level of cards they want to play and what cards they want to buy without blindly spending their money. At the same time, every rental transactions uses Resource Credits (RC) and new players without Hive Power have low RC which make renting individual cards difficult for them so the 1-Click Rentals will save them a lot of RC. I hope that the full implementation of this feature to be done soon to make it easier to onboard new players to the game.

Thank you and see you at the next post.
