Staking SPT and still getting SPS airdrop. Clarification for @seamoose

Well Seamoose you asked so here is your longer answer :)

Congratulations on getting those SPT but now your problem is what do you do with them and do they count towards SPS airdrop.

First: They Absolutely count. However, they don't count 1:1, they count 1:4. As you can see I got 2,514 airdrop points which means I should have 10,056 SPT. As you can see I don't have quite that amount but close within a rounding error for airdrop calculation.

I have 3 choices on what to do with them then.

  1. Stake them!
  2. Convert them!
  3. Delegate them!

If you Stake them then every time you upvote someone's post your vote will add to their reward for making the post and you will get a reward for the upvote. The reward is split 50:50

As you can see your vote is already worth 0.004951 on anything you upvote even your own posts

BUT
If I was to convert my 10056 SPT I would get roughly 8000 DEC and that counts 1:1 so I'd get almost 3x the SPS in the airdrop. If you aren't curating then convert is the way to go. Personally I hope you curate so you can add value to all your fellow guildmembers posts :)

However, if you want to get those curation rewards and don't want to buy the DEC there is the third option.

You can stake the SPT and then DELEGATE them to a delegation service like the monster-curator. The Monster curator will actively look for good posts to upvote and then give you your reward at the end of the day. No work involved by you.

AND delegated SPT still count for those SPS airdrop points!

IF you decide to delegate your stake to someone please follow this important step
.....
STAKE TO YOUR OWN ACCOUNT FIRST!!!
.....
Then delegate after.

If you stake to the @monster-curator. Well then you just gave the monster curator all your SPT and you'll be very sad.
