Splinterlands | These 2 monster will damage attackers if they miss

cards shopping! (17).jpg

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!

I hope all of you are enjoying a bright & fresh day with your family and friends and also playing this amazing card-based strategy game in your daily free time. Well, for daily splinterlands players, I hope you are all playing in the ranked section and have been collecting these league tier chests seriously because, after the new update, we do not only get reward chests in the reward shop by buying them with Glint tokens, but we can now also earn them for free by simply playing and climbing higher tiers. Now looking at this ongoing ranked season, we have still more than 11 days in hand before this season ends, so let us move up fast and claim those tier chests while fighting for our goals. Talking about me, I am playing at the Diamond II tier right now with a current trophy rating of 3,200 and need another 200 trophies to reach the next tier Diamond I, but my main goal is to reach the Champion League before the timer resets. Let’s see if I can reach my goal this time as last season, I could not play enough and ended up in the Diamond League.

Now moving forward, let me come to the main topic of this post as today, I will be continuing the series and talking about some more reward cards with a new ability. In my last post, I talked about 2 such Reward cards with Snipe ability and today, I will be talking about 2 more monsters but with Backfire ability. For those who don't know about this ability, a monster with this ability will give back 2 melee damage to enemy attackers if they miss their target in this card. So if you are interested, let’s take a dive without any further ado.

COMMANDER SLADE

The first monster that I would like to mention here is Commander Slade and this is my favourite action melee card so far in the entire new reward card set because of its high attack and other stats and ability combo which gives exceptional performance in battles if used rightly. This monster card was first introduced in the game with the latest Rebellion edition Reward card set and soon got popularity among players. This monster belongs to the Water element and it is a Rare type card, which means it will require a total of 115 BCXs of cards to be upgraded to max level. Its attack type is melee and it costs a whopping 10 mana to be used in battles, which means you can choose this card in your lineup when playing medium to high mana limit matches. Apart from a large melee attack, high speed and a defensive health + armour combo, this monster also possesses 4 abilities at its max level which I will be talking about below.

At level 1, this monster seems weak compared to its mana cost, as it only possesses 3 melee attack at 4 speed with 5 armour and 8 health and it also gets 2 abilities - a brand new ability Enfeeble and Evade. But as you start upgrading this card, it gets more attack, speed, armour and health at level 2 and 3, receives the Reflection Shield ability at level 4, again increases its stats in level 5, 6 and 7 and finally when you upgrade this card to level 8, it gets 5 melee attack at 6 speed with 7 armour and 10 health and also a new ability called Backfire along with those other 3 abilities which I mentioned above. Looking at the abilities, the Enfeeble is a brand new ability that was launched with the latest reward edition and with the help of this ability, each successful attack reduces the defender’s melee attack by 1. The Evade is an old ability which increases the chances to dodge enemy melee and range attacks and on the other hand, the Reflection ability will neutralise any damage coming through Blast, Return Fire, Thorns and Magic Reflect. So as you can clearly see, this monster can be very useful against melee attackers, especially when you want to weaken the front enemy melee card’s attack or just defend the front for longer.

CONTINUUM SEER

The next card that I would like to discuss here is Continuum Seer and this is no doubt one of the fastest attackers in splinterlands. This is also a monster card that was released with the latest Rebellion edition Reward card set and its attack type is Magic. This card belongs to the Fire element and it costs 4 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily fit this card in your lineup while playing small to medium mana limit matches or in Little Leagues ruleset. It is a Rare type of card, so you will need a total of 115 BCXs of card in order to upgrade this card to its max level of 8. As for its stats, though it has a high speed and good attack, its health is very weak and fragile, so you need to protect this card well from attackers or use its abilities well to evade attacks.

At level 1, this monster only possesses 1 magic attack at 3 speed with 1 armour and 2 health and it also gets the Backfire ability since its initial level. But as you start upgrading this card, it receives more speed at level 2, gets a new ability Phase at level 3, increases its magic attack at level 4, more speed at level 5 and 6 and 7 back to back and finally when you upgrade this card to its max level of 8, it gets 3 magic attack at 8 speed with 1 armour and 2 health along with those 2 abilities that I mentioned above. The Phase ability will help it to dodge magic attacks with the same chances applied for melee and range attacks and whenever it evades an attack, it will send 2 melee damage to the attacker. So if you can strategically use this card, this monster can bring more harm to enemy cards via its abilities than its own attack power.

I hope you liked reading my post and also loved those 2 monsters that I talked about above. Do you currently hold these 2 monsters in your collection and use them in battles? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below and I will be seeing you all in my next post.

Wish you all good luck on all of your future Splinterlands matches.
