Hello Splinterlords!
We have a bunch of new reward cards for @splinterlands.
Some of the new cards will change the current game meta.
Today I want to share with you how this new cards will make a difference in the actual game.
To start with we have 2 great neutral cards Onyx Sentinel & Sand Worm
Onyx Sentinel has everything we miss from Lord Arianthus, he reflects Ranged Attacks instead of Magic.
This will make a big change in the meta because it will be a good counter against the current most powerful summoners: Prince Renyn and Yodin Zaku.
Sand Worm is high mana cost card, but it has a big purpose to fight the current meta.
With the Sneak, Entangle and Piercing abilities, it will make sure to take care of those formations that leave a Spirit of the Forest or Phantom of the Seas in the last position.
It will make sure not only to hit flying units with entangle, but also perpetrate their armor with the piercing ability, and if that is not enough, it has a good chance to 1 shot almost every card with his 7 melee damage.
Next, we have our new game changing ability called Oppress.
Oppress does double damage when attacking a monster that has to attack.
This makes it a good counter against some of the most used cards in the game as tanks like Lord Arianthus and Gelatinous Cube for example.
There is currently 4 Splinters in the game with this ability: Fire, Death, Water and Dragon.
In fact, I made a joke about this new ability:
What did oppress said to Lord Arianthus?
And what did Lord Arianthus did in response?
Nothing, he just bent over and felt the power of oppression.
Last card that gave us a big surprise is Spirit Druid Grog
While Spirit Druid Grog is very weak in health, he has the Life Leach ability, making him a good survivor if he he doesn't kill him self with magic reflect. In the future if any Earth, Neutral or Dragon Splinter monster gets the taunt ability, it will make Grog even more powerful.
Besides that, he is the first monster in the Earth Splinter to have the Resurrect ability.
Spirit Druid Grog can be tricky to use, but in the right rules and with a good formation, it will make earth strong.
