What is up, guys! Hope you all are doing good. I am writing this post after a very long time. However, I am excited to be back again. Participating in this week's SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! This post is all about this.
Firstly, I want to thank @stiant for giving me the great opportunity by delegating a set of cards to me. My current active battling splinterlands account is @sherlock007, which is my alt actually.
Themed Card: ➡ NERISSA TRIDAWN
Nerissa is a proud warrior of the water. Armed with her enchanted trident, she defends the seas, the rivers, and the lakes. She is well known across coastal villages, and they often call on her for help. She has slain great sea beasts that would otherwise kill everyone in their path. She has rescued sailors from hurricanes, and even warned villages of incoming tsunamis to save lives. Her bravery and brilliance in battle have led to her being called Nerissa the Hurricane.
Nerissa was born and raised by the ocean, and could swim before she could walk. She always felt the sea called to her. And within her it stirred a deep magic. An ancient mana of tides and waves. Nerissa answered the call, and travels between the continents of the Splinterlands.

Battle Rules
This is going to be a 40 mana cap battle with only 2 active Elements (Fire & Water), and 3 combat rules as below:
- Back to Basic: Monsters lose all abilities
- Tis but Scratches: All monsters have the cripple ability
- Weak Magic: Magic attacks hit armor before reducing health.
My Line-Up
KELYA FRENDUL ▶
Here I choose the water element for 2 reasons. Firstly, in the Back to Basic rules magic attack monsters are the most effective I guess, and I had a good set of magic attacks in water element. Then comes the summoner, As Keliya Frendul provides +1 Armor and +1 Speed, it will be helpful under the combat rules of Weak Magic.
CRUEL SETHROPOD ▶
I put the Cruel Sethropod at first position mainly as it contains 4 Armors, and it costs only 3 mana cap. Also, it has a Melee attack of 2 damages. It will be protected from enemy monster's first few attacks, and that's the reason for putting it on the first position.
DJINN OSHANNUS ▶
At second position, I placed Djinn Oshannus. He will be done the job of my first tank. As it has 11 lives, it is a great option to put him in the second place, also his 2 damage of Magic attack will be crucial with a combination of 5 speed.
NERISSA TRIDAWN ▶
This week's themed card, Nerissa Tridawn is at 3rd position in my lineup. She is my second tank card with her 10 precious lives. Also, she has 3 damage of Magic attack and that's the reason for putting her behind of Djinn Oshannus.
MAGI OF CHAOS ▶
Magi of Chaos is at 4th position. As it has lower lives, it should not be on the front part of my lineup. I selected this card for it's 2 damage of Magic attack mainly, which will be helpful.
IGOR DARKSPEAR ▶
At the 5th position of my lineup, I have selected Igor Darkspear. He will be done dealing some damages to the enemy monsters with his 2 ranged attack. With its only 2 mana cap, it fits so well in this lineup after choosing the previous monsters.
SEA STALKER ▶
Sea Stalker is the last card of my lineup for this battle. He comes with a powerful Ranged attack of 4 damages. Also, 3 speed is a good speed. I put him on the last position of my lineup because it is a Ranged attack monster, has lower lives and mainly 4 ranged attack.
As it is a battle mainly under the Back to Basic combat rules, I think the above lineup is a good fit with Nerissa Tridawn.
The Battle
As the battle begins, I got a little scared of enemy team as he had a good front lineup. But after a couple of rounds, it becomes a pure dominating match by me. For a better quality of the visualization, here is the Link to the Battle.
About My Strategy
My strategy was firstly defending enemy attacks with dealing of minimal damage, and secondly protecting my attacking cards as long as I can. Cruel Sethropod did the first job well with it's 4+1 armor and 4 lives. Also, the summoner Keliya Frendul helped to protect enemy attacks with his +1 armor to all friendly monsters, as one of the combat rules was Weak Magic.
My main attacking cards were Nerissa Tridawn and Sea Stalker. Since, these cards had survived to the end of the battle, I would say my second strategy also worked perfectly.
My opinion about NERISSA TRIDAWN
I love Magic attack! As Nerissa Tridawn is a great Magic attack monster, there is no reason to don't like her. With 9 lives in the first level, she is a good option for tank card also. I often use her as my tank. Though, I do have a level 2 Nerissa Tridawn in my deck, this card is way more powerful and effective in higher levels even without any abilities.
