The DUCE is LOOSE: a PeakD Introduction

Allow me to re-introduce myself...
My name is DUCE. D - U - to the - C - E.
Here's a shpiel to learn a bit about me.

I've been a competitive collectable card gamer since the origins of Magic: the Gathering in 1993. I enjoy the intersection of in-game strategy, interpersonal interactions, and complex financial markets. I was especially focused on high-level competitive play, competing in some of the top tournaments available while staying actively informed of the metagame strategy in the game's different formats.

When my business partner showed me the new NFT blockchain game @splinterlands in November 2021, I was immediately intrigued by the gameplay and collectability. I spent the next three months immersing myself in the strategy and financial markets of the game. I took profits from some of my NFT and crypto assets and invested into the Splinterlands' ecosystem.

Fast forward three months - I have collected a wealth of experience (plus 600,000 CP) and I'm here to share it with you. I compete at the top levels of the game, regularly making it to diamond league as well as competing in as many of the SPS tournaments as possible. I worked my way into one of the oldest and most prestigious guilds in the game, @shield-of-glory, and I have a 2nd account with The Syndicate, a collective of four tiered guilds with several active streamers and newer players actively growing their accounts and moving up the ranks.

Now here I am on PeakD, doing my best to share my journey and lessons learned with you all, my followers, so thank you for joining me and reading along. I will provide regular brawl reports, tournament coverage, and timely opinion pieces on the development of Splinterlands. I'm also open and responsive to suggestions and feedback, so if there is anything my readers would like me to cover, just pop into the comment section and let me know.

Outside of my gaming interests, I have three college degrees: an undergraduate in broadcast journalism, and masters in education and finance. With this training, I feel uniquely positioned to report on the important issues facing Splinterlands, finding interesting topics to provide educational insights, and using my knowledge of financial markets to present advantageous investment opportunities.

Besides strategy gaming, I have a passion for athletics, playing recreational football (errr, soccer for my US followers), tennis, and softball. I teach and tutor mathematics, mostly focusing on topics in Algebra, as well as the basic logic elements of computer programming. I serve as the chief editor for a Dance Music publication Moon Lvnding, regularly attending shows in my hometown of New York City and travelling to EDM festivals across the United States. I have a growing collection of utility PFP NFTs including Bubblegum Kids, Bubblegum Pups, Wall Street Bulls, Wall Street Interns, Crypto Chicks, and of course the Lazy Lion I use for my profile picture on PeakD and PeakMonsters. Finally, I am an avid supporter of the reigning European and Club World Cup champions Chelsea Football Club and an active member of the world famous New York Blues. #carefree!
