The Splinterlands Reward system has been drastically changed since the last update. Rewards are higher for those with enough SPS for the League they’re in, but lower for everyone else. Many players who were used to playing higher Leagues and had paid thousands of dollars to upgrade their card collection up to that level, have now found out the hard way that without the staked SPS to back up that collection, they cannot play and earn anymore in their card’s League. The Rewards are nerfed and players are punished thrice: once by earning less SPS each win, once by earning less RP daily and thus less daily chests and of course once by earning less EOS chests.
(I’m not going to go into all the reasons that these players do not have the SPS staked, for myself personally as a recent player (I joined april 2022) there was no possibility of getting enough SPS as rewards to do so, and the SPS I had I used to buy Splinterlands assets like the Riftwatchers set. Yes, I’m aware of the fact that it’s possible to buy SPS externally to compensate, and that is exactly what I did, but not everyone who bought a high level card deck has the means to do so.)
So how can we solve the dilemma of layers who wish to play but are frustrated by not earning anymore, and even more so when they hear that lower League players are earning more than they are? Couldn’t we let people choose their own League?
Now that CP is gone, wouldn’t it be fine if there were a simple toggle one could use to reset your league downwards? Of course that should come with a built in clause that doing so should make you illegible for LB rewards that season, so that you couldn’t exploit your downwards move, but isn’t that something that could be programmed quite easily?
