What's Happening in Splinterlands

Hello Splinterlands Fam,

Things are changing in Splinterlands and you may have seen some clues here and there. Let's see what's happening

First of all, In the latest Town Hall, they showed us a better Roadmap.

So Matt was talking about some immediate changes and we started seeing them. There was an update yesterday, you may find the release notes on this page:

2022-05-17 Release Notes

Let's go over the changes:

1. Voucher Claim

In preparation for the release of SPS Validators we have made some changes to the way that Vouchers are distributed:
. Vouchers will no longer be automatically added directly to Splinterlands accounts, this has been put into place to spread the load of updating player balances after vouchers are distributed.
. You will now be able to view and claim your distributed vouchers on the SPS Management page in the rewards section.

After this release voucher needs to be claimed like the SPS airdrop or the staking apr claim. The UX changed like that:

SPS APR Claim and Voucher Claim Together

And also did you realize that the APR raised from %23 to %62. It seems many people unstaking to get the validator nodes!

2. Nodes Tab on Shop

We have added the Validator Presale shop page to Splinterlands. This page can be found in the Splinterlands shop under the ‘Nodes’ tab.

Node sales are coming in 6-7 days. Here's the page:

3. No More Buying Credits with DEC

Players will no longer be able to buy Credits with DEC.

Yeah, that means it's near that the DEC will replace Credits.

4. You can buy Chaos Legion Packs with DEC

Chaos Legion packs can now be bought with DEC

It's fixed to 4000 DECs for 1 Chaos Legion Pack.

5. Card Rental Balanced

In an attempt to stop automated systems from reading pending card rental or sales transactions and buying/renting cards before they are listed on the market, we have disallowed cards to be purchased or rented within the same block that the transaction was initially created. Currently, there is a 3 block (about 9 seconds) delay before a card can be purchased, after being listed. We may adjust this time in the future based on data collected and player feedback.

I actually like picking cards by hand on the renting page, so this may help it too? I really don't know!

I think these are very exciting small changes to start with. It's always nice to see the game evolving in front of your eyes.

Thanks for Reading. Take Care!
