John Lennon said in a song, "God is a concept by which we measure our pain".

This is a phrase that can be interpreted in many ways, and for me, God is a refuge from fear, and many times it is from death.

However, this does not mean that it is so. It's just my perception, and when I see those who practice the faith, I respect them.

In the Church of a Home for the elderly, I was able to verify it. Many people attended the mass. Some were concentrating on their prayers, others looked at me curiously as I walked through the halls photographing them.

In the nursing home there are more than 100 people, but not all of them went to mass, some because they are not well physically or mentally, and others simply because they are not believers.

And this is interesting to me because the elderly are usually associated with religion, because in my opinion it is a safe passage to paradise, the ideal place for eternity, and many take it as a fear of the unknown such as death.

However, being there contemplating the faith of many and how others don't give a chance, makes me understand the divergence.

Also, the tolerance that there should be in this regard as long as it is reciprocal.

Esta es una frase que puede interpretarse de muchas maneras, y para mí, Dios es un refugio ante el miedo, y muchas veces es el de la muerte.

Sin embargo, esto no significa que sea así. Es tan solo mi percepción, y cuando veo a quienes practican la fe, los respeto.

En la Iglesia de una casa hogar para ancianos pude constatarla. Muchas personas asistieron a la misa. Algunos estaban concentrados en sus oraciones, otros me vieron con curiosidad mientras paseaba por los pasillos fotografiándolos.

En el ancianato hay más de 100 personas, pero no todas fueron a la misa, algunas porque su condición física o mental no se los permitió, y otras simplemente porque no son creyentes.

Y esto me resulta interesante, porque los ancianos suelen ser asociados a la religión, porque a mi parecer suelen ser un pasaje seguro al paraíso, el lugar ideal para la eternidad, y muchos optan por esto como miedo ante lo desconocido como lo es la muerte.

Sin embargo, estar allí contemplando la fe de muchos y la de otros no, me hace entender la divergencia.

También la tolerancia que debe haber al respecto siempre y cuando sea recíproco.
