Daily Life in Subway Stations of Buenos Aires.

Daily Life in Subway Stations.

Hi friends...

Today I want to share with you something different, I have unexpectedly decided to make some stops at 3 subway stations on line D. This was something that occurred to me in the moment, so I didn't have anything planned, I was just traveling and the idea came to my mind. I thought that while I was traveling to my destination I could make short stops to photograph the daily life in some of these stations.

Starting with the "9 de Julio" station, which is too busy due to having various combinations to other lines. I wasn't sure it was a good idea to stop there and take out the camera among so many people, but luckily the time I was there helped me, it wasn't rush hour.

This is one of the signs that is between the platform and behind you can see the station going in the opposite direction.

At this moment most of the passengers had boarded the train and only a few were left walking to make other combinations, I didn't manage to take many photos here. I felt like I was risking the camera a lot... Yes, it is somewhat unsafe (for me) to have a camera in hand and take photos precisely in this station.

I got on the next train and after a few stations I decided to get off at the "Facultad de Medicina" station.

I would say this station is a little friendlier in a sense. Most of the people who circulate here are students since there are several universities on the outskirts. It is not a very saturated station with people either, I lived near here for a year and I also consider that it is one of the most preserved and beautiful stations on line D.

I took advantage of going down here because they had recently remodeled it after a few months.

Doors and windows only.

I find this theme interesting in general, being able to show some of these stations, the people waiting for the train, walking along the platforms and of course using their phones.

My methodology for these photos was to get off at the stations and wait for the next train, so I had at least 5 minutes to get some interesting shots. I had the 85mm lens so I had to move in and out to get proper frames. This is why you can only see part of the trains entering or leaving the stations.

I thought I needed at least one more station, I wanted a bigger station where I could perform better and get better scenes. That's when I got off at the "Plaza Italia" station.

If we are talking about subway line D, I can say that this is my favorite station... But in what sense? Due to the aesthetics of the place it's possible to get more interesting shots and through editing generate a cinematic atmosphere. The bluish tones are typical of this style but this time I wanted something different, more orange tones, less saturation and more shadows.

I have two favorite photos of all and this is one of them. I love that image, what happens there, how it is spontaneously composed. That person sitting looking at their phone while others in the background walk, the train entering the station and part of the facilities and lighting of the place.

I thought it would also be interesting to incorporate part of a trash can.

This is my second favorite shot. I also see it as a bit cinematic. I had to adjust the ISO levels up to 3200 for this photo. I really liked the results I got from this exercise or test. I will try to organize my time and travel to more modern and attractive stations (Line H) to achieve better results with a longer time available.

I really enjoyed taking these shots and I hope you can enjoy the result. It's a pleasure to share them with all of you guys.
