Happy Zingtober Everyone!
I want to share my entry for the first day of Zingtober! I was so excited to join this event, and I'll focus on this manga-like art style for the whole month. I want to create a connected story that would relate to the theme of each prompt.
This will be a story of Ellie's journey of finding out about herself, the reason for her existence, and an adventure to the vast of Holoworld.
So, where is Ellie? For now, she's inside the backpack (haha) held by her dying mother in the middle of the forest with only little Miu on their side. Luckily, due to Ellie's loud crying somebody found them and then the mother pleads to adopt her child.

Painting the background. I had these Inktober brushes prepared months ago for this very moment. hahaha
Lineart
The base color for them. Also started adding details to the backpack here.
Here I added the shadows to get a sense of depth. Also tried not to soften any edges and just kept everything sharp.
Refinements and adding more details. I painted a light that came from above probably from the moon to have a more dramatic feeling and also highlight the main characters for this day. I then again exported this to my phone for corrections.
Also, I just copied/pasted the shape of her face and opened her eyes for the close-up on the last panel.
