I really like painting scarecrows. It's one of the most recurring themes in my adolescent drawings; without a doubt, scarecrows have a supernatural and mystical air that has inspired hundreds of movies. When I think of scarecrows, the image of an infinite corn or wheat field, protected by a supernatural creature and surrounded by hundreds of crows flying around, always comes to mind, all illuminated by the last rays of the sun.
Me gusta mucho pintar espantapájaros. Es uno de los temas más recurrentes en mis dibujos de adolescencia; sin dudas, los espantapájaros tienen un aire sobrenatural y místico que ha inspirado cientos de películas. Cuando pienso en espantapájaros, siempre se me viene a la mente la imagen de un campo de maíz o trigo infinito, protegido por una criatura sobrenatural y rodeado por cientos de cuervos revoloteando a su alrededor, todo levemente alumbrado por los últimos rayos del sol.
For this occasion and as inspiration, we go back to day 23 of Zingtober, with the theme "Rust". On that occasion, I drew a very sad robot because it had gotten wet and would soon lose its last drop of energy. Well, sadly it happened: our robot was turned into scrap, but its soul remained trapped. Over time, part of our robot ended up on a farm where it was used to create a scarecrow. In the drawing, we will see Zingu and our Forest Healer looking amazed and somewhat sad at the robot that was once their companion.
Para esta ocasión y como inspiración, regresamos al día 23 del Zingtober, con el tema "Rust". En esa ocasión dibujé un robot muy triste porque se había mojado y pronto perdería su última gota de energía. Pues tristemente pasó: nuestro robot quedó convertido en chatarra, pero su alma quedó atrapada. Con el tiempo, parte de nuestro robot fue a parar a una granja, donde lo usaron para crear un espantapájaros. En el dibujo, podremos ver a Zingu y nuestra Forest Healer mirando asombrados y con cierta tristeza al robot que un día fue su compañero.
For this drawing, I started with a very simple sketch, since I wouldn't need details because the entire image would be backlit. Then, with the lasso tool, I outlined all the areas that would be in total darkness, and the areas in shadow or with small details, I achieved using a brush. I especially liked the captivating and emotional atmosphere that gives an overwhelming sensation. And, of course, I didn't stop at the simple black-and-white inks. Since I had the entire drawing well-structured and in individual layers, it was enough to add a small gradient and give it a nicer look. It would really make a very good wallpaper for the PC.
Para este dibujo, comencé con un boceto muy simple, ya que no iba a necesitar detalles gracias a que toda la imagen estaría a contraluz. Después, con la herramienta de lazo delimité todas las zonas que estarían en total oscuridad y las zonas en penumbra, o con detalles pequeños, las logré utilizando un pincel. Me gustó sobre todo la atmósfera cautivadora y emotiva, que da una sensación sobrecogedora. Y, por supuesto, no dejé el resultado en las simples tintas en blanco y negro. Como tenía todo el dibujo bien estructurado y por capas individuales, bastó con agregar un pequeño degradado y darle un aspecto más bonito. La verdad, sería un muy buen wallpaper para la PC.
