Zingtober Day #23: Rust-Waller

Greetings and happy weekend on this wonderful Friday. Today I'm happy because I managed to create my drawing early, of course, obligations are multiple and that makes me late. The important thing is that I'm here with my submission for day #23 with the theme Rust in the #Zingtober challenge in black and white.

It was not easy to choose something for this theme because when I translated the word it told me that it was rusty, but also rustic, so I had to think a lot until I came to the conclusion to choose Waller for this drawing which is about the whale who someone wants to catch and tries to do it through a very old anchor, so much so that it is somewhat rusty and chipped, this happens at night hours so at the top appears the big moon and at the bottom it is reflected very dark in the depths of the sea.

These publications for the challenge are my first time that I work so many subjects in black and white, therefore working a rusty piece was not easy because first I had to try different techniques to see which one gave me the rustic, old and rusty touch, so I chose to make lines in different places of the anchor and in different directions so that when applying the color the mark would remain; I also made some kind of stains to create that crack that remains when a layer of iron falls off. The second thing was the water drops on top of Waller, which I got through circles in different sizes in a lower tone than the animal and then I applied the color to the anchor.
