Hello fellow crafters, I hope you are well. Once again here to bring you a new craft. Today I show you a video tutorial on how to make a napkin holder or napkin holder, as many know it, with nothing more and nothing less than recycled cardboard. I made the decoration with moldable foami, as you know I love working with this material because of its easy handling.
In addition, I wanted to use a silicone mold and a set of stecas that I bought. The mold is for leaves of all sizes, from now on I will save a lot of time when making the leaves and they will have much more presence. As for the stecas, they are not professional, but I have been dying to buy them for a long time, because there are 8 of them and each tip is different. I used the ones that come in the packages of moldable foami, which are for children to play with, but well, so far they have done their job well.

El día de hoy les muestro un video tutorial de cómo hacer un porta servilletas o servilletero, como muchos lo conocen, con nada más y nada menos que cartón reciclado. La decoración la elaboré con foami moldeable, ya saben que me encanta trabajar con este material por su fácil manejo.

Además, quería estrenar un molde de silicona y un set de estecas que me compré. El molde es de hojas de todos los tamaños, de ahora en adelante me ahorraré mucho tiempo al elaborar las hojas y quedarán con mucha más presencia. En cuanto las estecas no son profesionales, pero hace tiempo moría por comprarlas, porque son 8 y cada punta es diferente. Yo utilizaba las que vienen en los paquetes de foami moldeable, que son para los niños jugar, pero bueno, hasta ahora hicieron bien su trabajo.

Step by step // Paso a paso

To begin, cut a circle and cut it right in half to make the sides of the napkin holder. You can do it according to the size you want, the diameter of my circle is 19.5 cm.

Para comenzar, cortar un círculo y cortarlo justamente a la mitad para hacer los laterales del porta servilletas. Puedes hacerlo según el tamaño que desees, el diámetro de mi círculo es de 19.5 cm.

Make many strips of cardboard, 1.5 cm wide and glue them on top of the semicircle of this shape, leaving half a cm of separation. Then cut off the excess and place a long ribbon horizontally.

Hacer muchas tirillas de cartón, de 1.5 cm de ancho y pegarlas encima del semicírculo de esta forma, dejándo medio cm de separación. Luego cortar los sobrantes y colocar un listón largo horizontalmente.

Then make a rectangle of cardboard to join the two semicircles, soak all the edges and when dry, glue with silicone to form the napkin ring.

Luego hacer un rectángulo de cartón para unir los dos semicírculos, se empapela todos los bordes y cuando esté seco, pegar con silicona para formar el servilletero.

Give a black base and then with the medium dry brush technique, paint with the carmelite color.

Dar una base negra y luego con la técnica del pincel medio seco, pintar con el color carmelita.

With green foami and the silicone mold make all the leaves we want to put in the decoration.

Con foami verde y el molde de silicona hacer todas las hojas que queramos poner en la decoración.

I tried pressing a little ball of foami with this mermaid tail-like peg and I liked the texture, so I decided to make the petals of the flowers in this way. Then I joined six petals together and placed the yellow center. In this same way I made 6 flowers.

Con esta esteca que parece una cola de sirena, probé presionando una bolita de foami y me gustó la textura, por lo que decidí hacer los pétalos de las flores de esta forma. Luego unir seis pétalos y colocar el centro de color amarillo. De esta misma forma elaboré 6 flores.

With all the elements ready, it only remains to place each one in its place. I made with carmelite foami like screws and placed them on the ribbon that I put horizontally. This way it has the shape of a barrel.

Con todos los elementos listos, solo queda colocar cada uno en su sitio. Hice con foami carmelita como unos tornillos y los coloqué en el listón que puse horizontalmente. Así tiene la forma de barril.
