I WAS HIRED TO USE MY ARTISTIC SKILLS [ENG/ESP]

I would like to share with all of you a bit of what I have been doing these last two weeks 😃 since I was presented with a great opportunity 😏 an association called "Diplomacy in Sport" hired me to do a job that required artistic skills 💪🏼, it was about painting some sponsor logos on an advertising canvas for a tennis tournament 🎾.

Me gustaría compartir con todos ustedes un poco de lo que he estado haciendo estas dos últimas semanas 😃 ya que se me presento una grandiosa oportunidad 😏 una asociación llamada "Diplomacia en Deporte" me contrato para realizar un trabajo que requería de habilidades artísticas 💪🏼, se trataba de pintar unos logos de patrocinadores en una lona publicitaria para un torneo de tenis 🎾.

When they contacted me to give me the explanation of what they required, it seemed to me something very simple to do, I proposed an effective way to do it and they accepted it 😌; First I visualized where to do this work, since the canvas was 18 meters long 🥴 the only feasible option was the patio of my house, I had to do a patio cleaning beforehand to be able to leave the walls free and so you can hang the canvas fully stretched throughout 💪🏼. To hang the canvas and be able to move it at will, I put many nails on the walls, that makes it much easier for me to move the canvas 😁.

Cuando me contactaron para darme la explicación de lo que requerían, me pareció algo muy sencillo de hacer, yo les plantee un forma efectiva de realizarlo y me la aceptaron 😌; primero me visualice en donde hacer ese trabajo, ya que la lona medía 18 metros de largo 🥴 la única opción factible era el patio de mi casa, tuve que hacer una limpieza al patio de antemano para poder dejar las paredes libres y asi poder colgar la lona completamente estirada a lo largo 💪🏼. Para colgar la lona y poder movilizarla a mi antojo, coloqué muchos clavos en las paredes, eso me facilito mucho la movilidad de la lona 😁.

Making the logos freehand would take too long and I only had two weeks to work, so the idea was to buy cardboard and make several stencils and then use spray paint and paint on the canvas in the best BANKSY vandalism style 😅; I got a card online for $1 and it measured 1.80cm x 80cm (perfect 😋) for the job, since each logo had to measure about 90cm and I activated the DESIGNER MODE 😁.

Hacer los logos a mano alzada llevaría demasiado tiempo y solo tenía dos semanas para trabajar por eso la idea fue comprar cartulinas y hacer varios stencils para luego usar pintura en aerosol y pintar sobre la lona al mejor estilo del vandalismo de BANKSY 😅; conseguí una cartulinas por internet a 1$ y medían 1,80cm x 80cm (perfectas 😋) para el trabajo, ya que cada logo debía medir unos 90cm y active el MODO DISEÑADOR 😁.

I am going to speak to you as honestly as possible, I underestimated this work too much 🙃 I had to make 20 stencils, almost all of them at a scale of 70cm in diameter, the largest measured one meter, it was really a very enriching experience, it required a lot of effort, I was on the verge of collapse 😅 my spine was killing me with pain 😵 the last few days I only slept 3 hours a day, each stencil took me about 4 hours to make 😱 I really am not exaggerating everything I did, but it was a great experience 💪🏼 from much learning.

Les voy hablar con la mayor sinceridad posible, subestime demasiado este trabajo 🙃 tuve que realizar 20 stencils casi todos a una escala de 70cm de diámetro los mas grandes medían un metro, de verdad fue una experiencia muy enriquecedora requirió de muchísimo esfuerzo estuve al borde del colapso 😅 la columna vertebral me estaba matando del dolor 😵 los últimos dias solo dormía 3 horas al día, cada stencil me tomaba unas 4 horas realizar 😱 de verdad no es por exagerar todo lo que hice, pero si fue una grandiosa experiencia 💪🏼 de mucho aprendizaje.

Then when it was my turn to paint, for a moment I had a panic attack, because first I bought a spray can and adhesive tape to fix the stencil to the canvas and thus pass the paint over it, but it turns out that the adhesive tape did not work for me. to fix the stencil, for a moment my mind was clouded, I did not know how to solve it, I felt that I was not going to be able to fulfill the order 🙃; I sat down for a while, breathed, calmed down 😌 I thought that my mind played dirty 😅 and then I quickly solved it with wire 😋 I held the stencils with wire. The first spray can didn't do much, hazing makes me stronger 💪🏼 that day I finished cutting out the missing stencils 😉.

Luego cuando me toco pintar, por un momento me dió un ataque de pánico, porque primero compré un aerosol y una cinta adhesiva para fijar el stencil a la lona y así pasar por encima la pintura, pero resulta que la cinta adhesiva no me funcionó para fijar el stencil, por un momento se me nubló la mente no sabía como resolver, sentí que no iba a poder cumplir con el encargo 🙃; me senté un rato, respiré, me calme 😌 pense en que la mente me jugo sucio 😅 y luego rápido solucioné con alambre 😋 sujete los stencils con alambre. La primera lata de aerosol no rindió mucho, novatadas que me fortalecen 💪🏼 ese día termine de recortar los stencils que faltaban 😉.

The next morning I bought three more cans of paint and painted all the stencils that I had already cut, although I still had some to cut, as it is something that took me a bit of time to which I had to pay more attention and be meticulous when it came to painting trim I left them for the last 🙃.

A la mañana siguiente compre tres latas de pintura mas y pinte todos los stencils que tenía ya recortados, aunque me faltanan algunos por recortar, como es algo que me llevaba un poco de tiempo a los que les tenía que dedicar más atención y ser meticuloso al recortar los dejé para lo ultimo 🙃.

The most exhaustive part was making those small letters, I was already super tired, my spine asking for help, I was about to desert, but if something became very clear to me from this wonderful experience it was that everything is mental and if one closes and thinks that we can't make it, then we won't make it 🙃 we must always trust our abilities 💪🏼 without hesitation.

La parte mas exhaustiva fue hacer esas letras pequeñas, ya yo estaba super cansado, la columna vertebral pidiendo auxilio, estuve apundo de desertar, pero si algo me quedo muy claro de esta maravillosa experiencia fue que todo es mental y si uno se cierra y piensa que no lo podemos lograr, entonces no lo lograremos 🙃 hay que confiar en nuestras capacidades siempre 💪🏼 sin dudar.

I finished the job at 7 p.m. on a Friday and at that time they came to pick it up from my house, since they needed it for the next day in the morning; I feel very satisfied with the result, I did a very professional job despite my existential crisis in full artistic development 🥴😅 I had a great learning experience and I have left a very good image of my work for the client 💪🏼😌. Culmine el trabajo a las 7 de la noche un viernes y a esa hora lo vinieron a buscar hasta mi casa, ya que lo requerían para el día siguiente en la mañana; me siento muy satisfecho con el resultado, realice un trabajo muy profesional apesar de mi crisis existencial en pleno desarrollo artístico 🥴😅 me quedó un gran aprendizaje y he dejado una muy buena imagen de mí trabajo hacía el cliente 💪🏼😌.
