Un saludo mis queridos amigos y amigas de la comunidad Hivediy, hoy vengo más encantada que nunca a participar en el New Contest: 😍 Decorated letters 😍 - Winners of the previous contest. y ustedes preguntaran porquè, y la razón es muy sencilla. hace rato que quería hacerme una letra C, la letra de mi segundo nombre Carolina; hay un dicho muy sabio que dice "En casa de herrero, cuchillo de palo" es decir que cuando se trata de algo para mí siempre lo voy dejando para después, para mañana, para otro día y así siguen pasando los años y nunca lo hago.
Pero hoy he visto mu sueño realidad, ahora esta hermosa letra va a decorar la habitación de mi casa y estoy dichosa. Por ahora no la he llevado a ese sitio especial, aun la tengo frente a mi cama y solo la quiero contemplar porque de verdad está muy linda.

But today I have seen my dream come true, now this beautiful letter will decorate the room of my house and I am happy. For now I have not taken it to that special place, I still have it in front of my bed and I just want to contemplate it because it is really beautiful.

Muchos de los que me conocen habrán leído alguna vez del porque mi nombre de usuario, alguna vez dije que me sentía muy orgullosa del nombre que Dios y mi madre escogieron para mí, el nombre Carolina siempre me ha parecido un nombre dulce; hace tiempo también escuche decir que el nombre de la persona también influye en su personalidad, de ahí que muchos padres busquen el nombre de su hijo en largas listas donde aparece el significado.
Many of you who know me will have read sometime about why my username, I once said that I was very proud of the name that God and my mother chose for me, the name Carolina has always seemed to me a sweet name; some time ago I also heard it said that the name of the person also influences his personality, hence many parents look up the name of their child in long lists where the meaning appears.

Cuenta mi madre que cuando ella fue a sacar mi partida de nacimiento la señora que la atendió en el registro le preguntó que cual iba a ser mi nombre y mi mamá le dijo Carlina, ¿y quieren saber porque me quería llamar así? porque en ese tiempo el país estaba viviendo el primer mandato de Carlos Andrés Pérez, al parecer fue un gobierno tan bueno que la gente amaba mucho a este señor. Era una mezcla entre Carlos y Carolina, pues bien, hoy le quiero dar gracias a esa señora en el registro que se confundió y me colocó esa "O" en medio, sino la historia fuese otra.

Como les dije hace tiempo que quería hacerme algo así con conchas de mar que tenía recogidas en una cesta esperando ser utilizadas. Estas conchas son muy lindas y las he recogido en cada viaje que hago a la playa. Soy de las personas que ama caminar por la orilla de la playa y va tomando lo que el mar desecha para darle otro uso.
As I told you some time ago I wanted to make me something like this with sea shells I had collected in a basket waiting to be used. These shells are so cute and I have collected them on every trip I take to the beach. I am one of those people who loves to walk along the shore and take what the sea discards and put it to another use.
Antes que nada les voy a explicar como hice esta letra y también les voy a contar de mis errores al momento de hacerla. La verdad es que no siempre las manualistas nos las sabemos todas, hay veces que nos enredamos y tenemos que reinventar la idea y volver a empezar.
First of all I am going to explain how I made this letter and I am also going to tell you about my mistakes when I made it. The truth is that we manualists do not always know everything, sometimes we get tangled and we have to reinvent the idea and start again.
En este caso yo hice todo paso a paso, saqué el patrón o molde de acuerdo al tamaño de la letra que quería, también valorando la cantidad de conchas útiles que podían servir para este proyecto, luego corté dos piezas principales de cartón y las uní con 3 círculos de rollo de papel que median exactamente igual, pegué todo con silicón y por ultimo corté unas tiras en cartulina y tape por las orillas.
In this case I did everything step by step, I took the pattern or mold according to the size of the letter I wanted, also valuing the amount of useful shells that could serve for this project, then I cut two main pieces of cardboard and joined them with 3 circles of paper roll that measure exactly the same, I glued everything with silicone and finally I cut some strips of cardboard and tape around the edges.
Hasta ese momento todo iba bien, la verdad es que hasta este paso no había gastado casi nada en materiales ya que todo es reciclado. Pero me lo que me sucedió al pintar en azul y poner las conchas que no me gustó como se veía, así que decidí volver a empezar.
Up to this point everything was going well, the truth is that until this step I had not spent almost nothing on materials since everything is recycled. But what happened to me when I painted in blue and put the shells I didn't like the way it looked, so I decided to start over.
Luego de todo esto lo único que hice fue unir las dos caras principales del proyecto con silicón líquido, volví a pintar pero enfocándome mas en aclarar con blanco todo el azul que ya le había puesto, luego lo que hice fue capturar una imagen con la conchas para ver primero como me quedaban mejor, así fui paso a paso acomodando hasta que me gustó lo que vi, con esta imagen fui pegando con abundante silicón y por ultimo decoré con con unas perlas de varios tamaños y colores.
After all this the only thing I did was to join the two main sides of the project with liquid silicone, I returned to paint but focusing more on clarifying with white all the blue I had already put, then what I did was to capture an image with the shells to see first how they were better, so I went step by step accommodating until I liked what I saw, with this image I was sticking with plenty of silicone and finally decorated with pearls of various sizes and colors.
