I was reluctant to join Eden up until recently. Why? I was afraid that Eden was too limiting, that I might get elected into a chief delegate position and be held responsible for things beyond my understanding, control and/or ability to handle effectively. In other words I saw no significant benefit to me from joining, but only a potential thankless headache. I am always looking for the best value I can create for others, as well as the best value a situation can create for me.
If Brock Pierce can show up to the Eden Elections without even intending to run and get elected as a chief delegate, than NEveryOne else can too I imagine. I would have never voted for someone who is so fickle about taking on an elected position, but feel like NAME CRED trumps vision of the future every time when nobody else apparently has a clear vision that everyone can agree on. Doesn't mean that I don't like Brock or don't want him to be part of Eden. Being new though, when I think of Brock Pierce I think of Mt. Gox or Block One and damage control. I actually think he can contribute tremendous value and am quite excited to see his participation...
Brock Pierce plans to form an advisory council to help allocate Eden funding and help Eden become as successful as possible.

I am just saying that I am not interested in making decisions for others or promises I can't keep. I am interested in providing a holistic leadership, education and communication infrastructure that combines tech with a new culture of collaborative innovation. I think the first order of business is to provide a better communication infrastructure for surveying Eden members. Here is something I have been playing around with, called Lime Survey. Can we integrate Eden user authentication to it, I wonder?

I see the whole structure of Eden, as well as the official, vote-represented selection and election of chief delegates, a burden until there are greater levels of dialogue and understanding of the real issues, which comes through communication and education of a diverse number of people in our community, and not only through a minority of players who are "in the know". I don't want people new to our ecosystem to have to go through what it took for me to get to the level of understanding that I have now. It was a very difficult path and very resource intensive, having to participate in Telegram and Discord helped me realize those platforms are full of security risks and vectors for attack, as well as hostile actors not interested in helping raise awareness or educating others but rather creating a situation to break down and limit trust and effective communication.
Eden lacks the infrastructure IMHO to accomplish this now and it will take the work of a team of focused players to build it. Something that will take longer than a few months to implement and refine... until these issues are sorted out, I feel being a chief delegate to me seems a thankless job prone to criticism and confusion.
Suggested Idea: To raise awareness and educate members, can Eden somehow implement the use of NFT's or EOS tokens in a way that incentivizes human mentorship and/or access to educational information a value that supports its worth?
